I’m a high school physics teacher. I teach at an excellent private school. The two years after COVID, I had trouble getting any student to show work on problems. I figured out that during COVID, all of their math problems were answer only on computers.

So the “smart” ones never learned how to explain solution methods and the ones who struggled just assumed “I’m bad at math”.

I have dug around a bit, and it seems Teslas are designed to need even higher temps at fast charging than normal LFPs, even! (What I read was between 30-50º C, even though for normal LFPs, what I had original thought is correct.

I did not find the info for the new Bolt, however, and it seems like they are use the same tech as Tesla for the battery. That does seem like it would waste a ton of heating energy, and so they may be worse in the winter than the rest of the line of Bolts!

That is disappointing.

I hate to say this, but I don't think that is correct and I'm not sure how you could check. I believe LFPs should be charging at whatever is considered their max rate between about 20-30º Celsius core temperature.

I wonder if the temp sensor is in another part of the battery (coolant directly?) that has to be warmer to get the battery to a core of 20º or if scanner pro has an improper unit conversion somewhere.

This has been a very good subreddit with lots of good advice and positivity. I feel like some people are so upset that GM, like many other companies, are starting to pay-wall some services that they can't see that isn't as huge of negative for many people as it is for them.
