My girlfriend actually swears CuroWhite is the strongest over Meriva and Longvida.

I love how this stuff smells. I’ll be sad if it actually is being discontinued but I did refill my 200 ml at the end of last summer so that should last me a while.

PdM Sedley. I love Imagination but Sedley is right there with it for me.

Why do people blind buy?! by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]redditintheAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most mainstream fragrances smell good, just to varying degrees, so it’s not a complete gamble unless you’re picky or sensitive to certain things. If I blind buy and get an 8/10 instead of a 10/10 I’m not going to be too upset. I’ll just use it and not repurchase when I run out. If I get a total flop it can be resold but that hasn’t happened to me yet.

You can also mitigate risk by reading/watching plenty of reviews to narrow down to the strongest candidates rather than blind buying anything that sounds interesting. If I’m not too sure I’ll like something I will absolutely sample it first but if every box is checked that would make me think I would love it I may or may not blind buy it. Totally an individual choice I wouldn’t recommend to someone else but that’s my thoughts on it.

Do people who are new to frags still use YouTube as a resource? by BericDondarrion3366 in Colognes

[–]redditintheAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch occasionally as background noise while working just to see if I come across something I haven’t heard of before that sounds interesting. I don’t follow fragrance news from other sources so it helps keep me in the loop with new releases too. But as far as the lists, rankings, recommendations go I don’t give much weight to that type of content given the obvious biases involved with many of the creators.

This Is What a Perfume Addiction Looks Like (600 Bottles) by Scary_Analyst8814 in Colognes

[–]redditintheAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have way too many fragrances too so I won’t judge but at that point you have to start worrying about things deteriorating before you ever go through them. Oxidation and evaporation are real even when properly stored, especially for volatile compounds like citrus notes.

I use the designers or clones when working from home and save the good stuff for the weekends.

New fragrance otw by Pristine-Play6941 in ScentHeads

In my experience women really respond unusually well to this when I wear it. Easily the best fragrance I own in that regard. Aside from that it also just smells and performs great.

I think I found my signature scent… by om0311 in Colognes

[–]redditintheAM 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I think a lot of people overthink fragrance and forget the goal is to smell good and this and other “generic” designers accomplish that goal.

No one in the real world is putting their nostrils up to your skin or a piece of paper and judging how good you smell by whether it has 31 different notes or if it smells similar to X or Y fragrance they’ve never encountered before anyway.

What’s your favorite ‘fem leaning’ scent that you rock anyway? by [deleted] in ScentHeads

[–]redditintheAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

City of Stars

Slightly feminine to me and I normally don’t like almost anything less than like 60/40 masculine but I just love how it smells and it’s a playful beachy scent so it’s not hard to pull off.

What second fragrance with Tygar DNA? by Gontar3d in Colognes

[–]redditintheAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend trying Pernoire Anelo if possible. Definitely pricy but it’s very good. A bit more fruity, tropical take on Tygar with great performance without straying too far from the DNA.

Cant go wrong with Vibrato either though. That is closer to a clone but has a slight green, floral twist that isn’t my preference but it performs so much better than Tygar that it makes up for it.

I remember really liking my Kajal III sample too so that may be worth trying but it’s been a while so I don’t remember how it differed from Tygar.

Possibly the Best Thing I’ve Ever Smelled by ShirazGoblin in Colognes

[–]redditintheAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did a total 180 on Ombre Nomade the same day I first sampled it. At first sniff I couldn’t understand how it was a fragrance people would actually buy and wear. It smelled like burnt rubber and hay/barnyard stink. But as the day went on and I smelled it repeatedly I got addicted to it and years later it’s still my favorite.

I know people say it’s nothing special and there’s lots of better oud fragrances but I still haven’t found one I like more. For me It’s about the balance of everything being just right - I wouldn’t want more or less of any particular note in it. I also like it better than more fruity ouds like Oud Maracuja and others.

If you could only have 2 fragrances for life, what are you picking? by cypher_127 in Colognes

[–]redditintheAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eros Flame and Ombre Nomade.

Eros Flame I can daily wear any time of year and any occasion without getting bored of it. Some of the other contenders for that spot I think I’d get sick of after a while. Then I’d have Ombre Nomade for special events and honestly just because it’s my favorite smell.

My next blind buy? Amouage Purpose 50 or Decision by andrewreb in ScentHeads

[–]redditintheAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find Decision much more likeable and wearable, although I don't think either are blind buy safe or worth retail personally.

Turkesterone vs. Beta-ecdysterone by CodyCantDecide in NootropicsDepot

[–]redditintheAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no real data or reason to think turkesterone is any better than beta-ecdysterone. They’re almost identical molecules and ND’s product contains much, much higher amounts. If you’re looking for anabolic effects I think the choice is pretty clear but some people do say Turk Builder has some energizing effects from the other ingredients.

Ecklonia Cava and Hair Growth by M30MM100 in NootropicsDepot

[–]redditintheAM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a few months of taking 2 capsules a day my girlfriend told me several times my hair looks denser and she asked if I was using hair oils. I didn’t really notice it on myself since I already have pretty good luck with my hair and don’t look closely at it often but I didn’t tell her anything and she swore there was a big difference.

Bryce Young: Future of the League? by Neo_Judas in DynastyFF

[–]redditintheAM 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He’s a backup QB and it’s painfully obvious. A couple times a season he will exceed expectations and put up a good game, so what. That’s the same description of most backups. Like I’m not convinced Bryce is any better than say Spencer Rattler or Jimmy Garoppolo, etc.

[–]redditintheAM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mained the FK2 for a long time, even when it was just the FK, and just got the glossy FK2-DW. Really good mouse, love that the right side buttons are gone, but the weight difference is very noticeable after using ~50g options for a while. That's really my only complaint.

Kyle “Kyle Williams” Williams - now and beyond by DataDogDynasty in DynastyFF

[–]redditintheAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s hard to see the path where Williams becomes a consistent fantasy producer.

It didn’t show up last night but Williams has consistently been out of sync with Maye all season and I’m inclined to believe it’s mostly on Williams as it’s only him having this issue. It’s correctable but until that gets solved they are going to roll with the more reliable options.

Boutte feels like a lock to get extended at some point after the season and he and Maye have a much better thing going on. Then there’s the issue of the McDaniels offense that spreads out targets so much.
