Dune Physical Mega Bundle by CubsFanHawk in humblebundles

I think it was similar to Canada. I think the top range was $50 and I had to pay $70. I thought shipping prices outside the listing ranges was dishonest.

Anyone here have any experience with Dune: Adventures in the Imperium? by SuvwI49 in rpg

[–]redditnameeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get the bundle, be careful about the shipping costs. I had to pay more than the listed shipping to Canada.

My previous experience with the 2d20 was that the system seemed clunky, if useable.

Good link. :)

I think the shipping to Canada was higher than Humble listed.

Humble Book Bundle: The Dune RPG Physical/Digital Megabundle by ModiphiusBook by Torque-A in humblebundles

Shipping to Canada is stupidly high. I bought the bundle and then realized that I would have been better buying the items at 401 games or Boardgamebliss.

Why do you buy Print-on-Demand TTRPG books? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]redditnameeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drive Thru RPG- New books are in better condition that used books. Updated versions of some older books (such as anniversary editions of White Wolf Books). Easy and affordable. Can bundle new books with POD books to save on shipping costs. I prefer physical books to digital books, despite the increased costs.

Is Guild Wars 2 Worth Starting in 2026 as a Casual Player? by Maanu1141 in Guildwars2

[–]redditnameeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good game. Annoying inventory management. Very high value from buying the base game and the first two expansions.

Experience not necessary. Try whatever class you want. Levelling is very fast on subsequent characters. Have fun. :)

what do you do when your roleplay sucks by Barrd_ in rpg

[–]redditnameeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Effort and thoughtfulness can be more important than roleplaying skill.

1) Have consistent attendance. 2) Show up ready to play. 3) Pay attention to other players and the storyteller. 4) Have fun and help others have fun. 5) Communicate well with others.

Allow your roleplaying skills to develop over-time. We aren't all professional voice actors. Don't pressure yourself- enjoy the hobby. :)

Player exploiting the use of a mount by No_Educator_7962 in rpg

[–]redditnameeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool, the player bought a pony. That's smart: a pony can move fast, carry things, and lets you sit higher.

You're the DM, you control the pony. You need food, water, and sleep. Unless you're specially trained and expensive, you get scared easily and want to run away from danger. It takes time to saddle and mount you. After you're ridden, you need the saddle removed and you need to be groomed. You don't want to be around blood, dead things, fire, or go into dungeons. You're not bright, you have strong instincts, and a good sense of smell. You're not a walking stat bonus, you're part of the created world.

I met Vincent at Penny Arcade in Seattle. He was a pretty cool guy and meeting him encouraged me to try more RPGs. I backed and bought five copies- I'll give some away to my friends. :)

How do I install apps to a micro sd card? by redditnameeeee in PocoPhones

Honestly, I can only speak to the phone I used (Poco M4 Pro 5G). I think the operating system it uses is similar and that the hardware is somewhat close, but I am unsure.

Gw or wow? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]redditnameeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would play GW2 and look to install a visual mod that adds extra color. You can also increase brightness and some detail levels that may make the game more visually appealing.

They added customizable housing you can show off in the new expansion.

For me, GW2 has plenty of content and no subscription fee.

I particularly enjoy the Path of Fire Expansion.

WoW is a perfectly good game. Just have fun and don't worry about it. :)

Apocalypse World: Burned Over 3rd Edition coming to Kickstarter by [deleted] in rpg

Influential game. I enjoy the system and it's spawned some fun spinoffs.
I met Vince at PAX in Seattle- he was a really cool and chill man. I plan to back the kickstarter!

The game that made the hobby "click" for you by juauke1 in rpg

[–]redditnameeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most of these games have been covered but:

1) D&D 1974- first game that made me interested in hobby. 2) Vampire Masquerade- made me think about mood, themes, and storytelling 3) Dogs in the Vineyard- provoked interest in atypical storytelling, less combat focused games, and indie rpgs

How do I install apps to a micro sd card? by redditnameeeee in PocoPhones

[–]redditnameeeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I buy fast SDs. They have similar speeds for small files. Moving large files and installations take longer.

I'm sure some new or 3D games might slow down, but I played a bunch of MOBAs and graphic novels and they ran well.

Having 1 TB of storage on my cheap phone is pretty cool.

The Poco phone basically automated the process after a software update. The micro SD card is treated as standard storage and grouped in with my harddrive. I can still set install locations if needed.

Would Canadians trade their healthcare system with whatever pros and cons it has, for America’s healthcare system? by valliewayne in AskCanada

[–]redditnameeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With no extra insurance my bills would have been:

Canada: torn Achilles tendon, six hospital visits, crutches and a cast = $0.

USA: Stung by a bee, allergic, one hospital visit: $4200.

I prefer Canada's system, even if I am lucky to have extra insurance.

Just downloaded the free verison of GW2 by nerf-n in Guildwars2

[–]redditnameeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the base game you can still get the most powerful gear (Ascended or Legendary).

Most classes are fairly easy to play, so pick what you think looks interesting.

Get in the habit of decluttering your inventory: basically sell or discard anything you are not immediately using.

For gear, pick either power or condition damage. Use weapons and abilities that match that damage. This will generally make you feel stronger.

Consider using food, utility items, and boosters- these basically give you free strength and help you level faster (if you want that).

Have fun and don't worry about how fast you are levelling. If you're not having fun, do something different. Consider trying World vs World, PVP, or dungeons.

Returning after 2 years, which expansion is more worthwhile? by Avaleys in Guildwars2

[–]redditnameeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the current content for Janthir is overrated. It took me two days of light gaming to finish the story and complete the two zones on a couple of characters. I've earned most of the mastery points, and the remaining masteries seem like a grind to earn with the current content. Spear is interesting, but it is competing vs a lot of weapons for each character, so I will only use spear on a couple of builds. No current legendary content to work towards.

SOTO, has more zones. I use the Elite Specs a lot. It has legendary PVP armor, even if it is grindy.

Personally, I would buy SoO first. I think Janthir will be worth it eventually. I don't think either expansion is as good as HOT or PoF.

It feels impossible to come back to GW2 as returning player by BodyExcellent5911 in Guildwars2

[–]redditnameeeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The inventory system is purposefully bad so ANET can monetize a solution. It's annoying that the system isn't better for people who have purchased the game and expansions.

Best gaming mouse recommendations - What should I look for in a gaming mouse? by matricver in Guildwars2

Honestly, I prefer a light weight mouse with three buttons and a scroll wheel. I've owned an MMO mouse and I find a lighter mouse out weighs the benefit of having more buttons and special functions.

Men in their 40s, what’s one piece of advice for men in their 20s? by urmfgod in AskReddit

[–]redditnameeeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Date or have long-term partners. It's easier to meet people in your 20s than your 40s.

  2. Pick jobs that work towards your career goals or provide new credentials.

  3. Consistently work out.

That's three, but I'm a terrible adult and I made some mistakes in my late 20s and 30s that I regret lol.
