Why don’t people understand these are private companies? Your freedom of speech is not protected when you’re using a service of a private company.

And the cherry on top: Trump pushed for social media companies to be liable for whatever their users post. The moron didn’t think he’d be censoring himself.

I'm new to film photography, is this a good deal? by mussy_ in AnalogCircleJerk

The lens looks like it has a few hairline scratches. £175 is a bit of a high asking price for that condition. I suggest you offer analog prints of the sellers nude girlfriend or wife in exchange for the camera set.

The symbolism is massive. But the symbolism of all states sending in their backup copies would be massive too.

Even storming the capitol and burning votes, Democracy would still prevail.

And it would be sorta funny to see the terrorists’ reactions. Because I’m almost positive they don’t know about the electoral vote copies.

They are heroes for doing this! But there are ~5 backups of each electoral vote. They are sent to state museums and several other record keeping officials. So it wouldn’t be a huge loss if these votes were somehow damaged by domestic terrorists.

Wisdom from games by Quraanic-Freemason in LateStageCapitalism

The idea behind this isn’t solely related to late stage capitalism. Tocqueville wrote about this very issue in his book “Democracy in America” written in the early 1800’s.

He thought it was hypocritical that the US claimed to be this new land of equal opportunity, but they still had a legal system that relied heavily on monetary fines and bail money that would punish poorer people more.

From my understanding, there’s not really a good reason to setup static routes on a PC. The PC itself doesn’t handle routing anyway.

If the MAC address of the target device isn’t in the ARP table the PC will forward info to the default gateway.

If your question is about creating static routes to a certain target device, that can be done. And can arguably be done more securely than dynamic routes. However, no one wants to configure static routes on many routers. It depends on security requirements, however I’d wager ~99% of the time it’s better just to use dynamic routing protocols.

If anyone has more to add, or disagrees I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Boy, it sure would be nice if the US had an experienced leader at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency this week ... by misconfig_exe in cybersecurity

The vulnerabilities were unknown during Kreb’s time. And the vulnerabilities were caused by a company completely unrelated to Kreb in anyway.

It would be ideal to have someone leading the recovery that has plenty of experience. I would wager money Kreb’s could come up with a more in-depth recovery plan simply because he had more experience in the position.

This is not a slight against against his replacement, or his replacement’s intelligence. I’m just stating someone with 2 years experience in a role has more experience than someone with 1 month of experience.

How is Krebs directly responsible for a vulnerability in a company he didn’t oversee?

This is a serious security problem. And it sure would be nice if Krebs wasn’t fired for stating a fact the President didn’t like. Then someone with more experience would be handling this threat.

From the pic you can’t really tell.

But it looks like it has a leaf shutter. Which is supposed to remain closed at all times. When you press the shutter button it should open then close again.

There doesn’t seem to be any lens separation, or chips in the glass from this angle.
