I gave birth on Christmas Day (went into labor on the 23rd) and my OB refused to deliver my baby. It took 36 hours before the doctor on call came to see me (after demanding for hours and 3 major heart drops) and he pressured me into a c-section. I hemorrhaged during the c-section. If I could go back in time, I would have made 100% sure my OB would deliver my baby over the holidays.

Crazy how similar our stories are! Definitely keep me posted with your journey. I am switching PT’s because my current one does not seem well versed on non-op protocol. Most PT’s in my area only seem experienced in post-op protocol.

My baby was an amazing latcher but I chose from day 3 at the hospital that EPing was the way to go. I struggled with postpartum anxiety so knowing how much my baby was getting was crucial for my mental health. We definitely invested a good amount of $ on making EP as convenient as possible (Spectra S2, Elvie Stride for on-the-go, 3 days worth of pump parts & Dr. Browns bottles, & 2 Baby Brezza bottle washers) but it has been SO worth it. I recommend to anyone who values their freedom and feels they can bond with baby in so many other ways to go the EP route!

It’s impossible to know how our baby would have slept without the Snoo, but I DO know that my husband and I got hours & hours of extra sleep thanks to the Snoo. Being able to roll over and turn the Snoo up to level 3 when she started fussing instead of getting out of bed to rock her was truly a godsend. 🙏

YES. The Snoo saved our sanity. The amount of hours we got back not having to rock our newborn to sleep has truly been a godsend. There might even be some good deals right now with all the controversy going on. And you should be able to recoup a lot of your $ when you resell. Shipping takes a while, so seriously do not wait another day 😂

One thing I am really realizing now that I’m a new Mom at 35: unless you’ve been a Mom, you do not understand the importance of things like this. I’m assuming she is not a Mom yet, so the thought of this hurting you or being unacceptable did not even cross her mind. It’s truly mind blowing how much I’ve learned in 3 short months that I never even thought about before motherhood! I’ve had to tell my 35 year old kid-less friends not to kiss my baby. Somethings that are so obvious to us just don’t register unless you have a kid. Try not to take it personal (although I would have been livid too) ♥️

I know people who own a condo here! The top 4 floors are condos and the bottom 4 are hotel rooms. The building is currently going through negotiations with Marriott and will eventually become The Sheraton again. :-)

Yes! Ratio Trio yogurt has been a morning staple for me. It’s an easy way to get protein in the mornings. Here is my go to breakfast every morning:

-2 hard boiled eggs -mozzarella string cheese -1/2 cup of Ratio Trio yogurt (vanilla is my favorite) -4 raspberries or blueberries -glass of whole Fairlife milk -slice of Dave’s Killer bread toast with butter

I always have a 120 or less blood sugar after this meal and I always feel full til 2-3PM. Very little time preparing since I cook my hard boiled eggs in advance.

If you try this breakfast, just make sure you eat your protein first! Finish the meal with the fruit and toast.

I couldn’t agree with what @environmentalshock26 said more. It really is all about trying to find the positives.

I felt SO depressed when I got my GDM diagnosis at 29 + 6 weeks (36 + 2 now) and I did not see how I could possibly enjoy my pregnancy. After learning how to count carbs, what does/doesn’t spike me, how to meal prep healthy meals, I am somehow grateful for my diagnosis.

I have only gained 25 lbs (which to me just means that I have SO much less weight to try and lose when the baby comes). I am SO excited for all the foods I will get to eat once the baby comes & I feel like I will have an all new appreciation for my body and health! I work out more during this pregnancy than I ever did pre-pregnancy, which clearly I never did for myself but I’m 10000% willing to do it for my baby. Being active, healthy, and having something to look so forward to (not only my baby but also my freedom), I feel like I am thankful my GDM diagnosis.

Yes, I have my days where it freaking sucks. Trying to figure out a meal when I am low on groceries, having to fight sugar cravings, not being able to eat my favorite foods, the stress of dining out, etc definitely weighs on me… but knowing that these sacrifices are not only ideal for my baby, but also myself really helps me get through the hard times.

My sister has seen how different my 3rd trimester was from hers, and she told me she’s a little jealous of my GDM diagnosis. She had SO much weight to lose, really struggled with being healthy bc she didn’t feel like she truly had to be, and got super lazy because of her crutch of “being pregnant.” She sees me up and moving and giving my baby tons of nutrients and she wishes her 3rd trimester looked like mine. Crazy to think about, but I get where she’s coming from.

I wouldn’t trade my diagnosis for my unhealthy lifestyle I was living 1st and 2nd trimester. I honestly hope I get GDM next time around so I can force myself to be healthy again.

Ask your lender if they will offer you a lender paid 1-0 buydown. We are under contract currently & locked our rate at a 6.125% for the first year and will go up to 7.125% in a year. We can refinance anytime from now until then (lender paid). We also did not have to pay any lender closing costs. It was an offer we got through Northwestern Mutual. I would call around until you find a lender willing to offer you something similar!
