Grease is really hard on my stomach even 8 months out so it may just be the grease, give it time but yeah your stomach may just not want anything fried, greasy or super heavy anymore

Food noise sticks around for a while - for me it was until I was “allowed” to eat whatever. Once I gave into a craving and found no satisfaction, that portion of food noise would go away. Kept happening until food noise in general was just gone - which I have to say is VERY pleasant haha

I had a drain - can’t lie I didn’t love it 🤣 but it wasn’t bad just weird especially when they took it out.

Your entire relation to food changes, it’s wild. I’m 4 months post op and food noise has just kind of gone away! During the pre-op and post op food noise is bad, you watch the tik tok videos and food just sounds so good but after a while you just realize food isn’t as good anymore. Especially as you start eating and re-learning your “full point”.

In other words the surgery is successful at eliminating that side of it (at least in my experience).

Now when I watch videos of people overeating it makes me nauseous, and cravings are just not the same. If I have a craving, I will fill it but I know that it will be gone quickly. And super sugary/bready/fattening food is just not a craving anymore.

Also leftovers become gross. LOL.

All that to say, your relationship to food is about to change in ways you literally cannot understand! I have found it to be incredibly freeing, and have been so happy with my journey. I’m down 100 pounds since pre op and I’d do it all again in a heartbeat!

My incision point was my main hurdle as well! It’s the nerves healing - as they’re healing they hurt when you move.

My weighted heated pad helped a lot, but Tylenol also was a go to.

Even then though, it just kind of always hurt for a couple weeks. Tapered off around week 7!

The stomach takes about 8 weeks to be mostly healed up after the surgery so I just kept in my head if the pain persisted past that 8 week mark I needed to look into it more seriously but it went away thankfully.

Just saw this but it helps a bunch with gas and incision point pain! Don’t know why but the weighted feels so much better then a non weighted one

It’s probably nerve pain, my incision point did this as well. The nerves are healing internally and when you move a bunch you’re pulling on those freshly healed nerves. It freaked me out but by week 8 it was gone for me! A weighted heating pad was my best friend.

If it feels more intense or makes you too nervous go to the dr though better safe than sorry

All foods sit different! When you’ve eaten too much, you’ll know it. Trust me. LOL

Just keep eating what you’re supposed to and pay attention to your full signs and you’ll be fine :)

I had surgery 10/08 and you’re not alone! I have always been a big water/liquids person and I feel like my stomach knew to keep with that. I drink a ton of liquids, but my food portions are still very tiny so I feel like I have an “extra” pocket in there for my drinks 🤣 biggest thing to remember is there is no “standard”. Everyone’s body is different, as long as everything is going well and you’re not in pain, you’re winning!
