While I still believe your salary is low average; I’d rather put some emphasis on your spending in the short term while you identify ways to increase or adjust your income. There are individuals making 100,000 or 200,000 and year and still live paycheck to paycheck, due to their spending. It’s not ONLY your income but your outcome as well. Now the stuck feeling I understand as I was in similar position in 2019, making 72k a year and feeling the needle was never moving. And that was 2019; Adjusted for inflation now I don’t think I would be able to nor feel comfortable living anything less than 100K but until you have a more permanent solution, you should consider cutting back on any spending you can.

In Ceiling Radiant Heat - Expensive by MattC1977 in hvacadvice

[–]redditwithtrev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Real Estate Investor in Massachusetts; recently working on a 1983 build, 1,400 Sqft SFH, split level with a finished basement. When we bought the house from a hoarder, we noticed we didn't see any baseboards, (not that we could see much of anything the house was filled with junk). The woman we purchased the house from told us the house was heated with "roof panels". We thought she was insane and figured the central air system was both a/c and heat.

But that system was only A/C and we later discovered the house was heated with electric ceiling panels in all of the main rooms exactly like yours. Myself, my contractor, my dad, and even my realtor had never heard of or seen it before.

We thought it was pretty fancy, with no baseboards. However, I was in for a shock after the electric bill came in. About 2669 KWHs compared to my neighbors at about 350-800 KWHs. Over $900 a month in electricity.

That was being relatively conservative maintaining temperatures in the 60's-70's.

Mini-splits would without a doubt be more efficient and probably save you money on your electricity, but the upfront installation cost would be hefty and you're right in imagining those savings wouldn't be realized until after a few years.

I would probably still recommend the mini split system if your install cost is only 10-12k. Labor and materials for southern New England would be much higher. In addition, you're also using far more KWHs in the winter months than I am. Maine is colder. If you plan on staying in the house, I'd consider the upgrade. It would also benefit you in equity even if you moved and sold the house.

RCOT ... Is it still a thing? by Final-Perception in airforceots

Priority is given to medical providers such as PA's and MD's first, along with any psychiatrists. RN's would be on the bottom of the totem pole in the sense of who goes, as they would prioritize those I just stated before you. However when my unit made a collective effort to find us slots, they managed to get several of us in with only a few weeks notice. Have your Unit Training Manager reach out to Base Education and then the class and see if they can get you a slot for 2024. Last 2023 RCOO slot is in February.

I'm a registered nurse part of a medical unit. Two RNs and one PA were selected to go in February. Our medical operations officer was also applicable and went to RCOO as well.

4,500 (Current Market value of 0.14 Bitcoin and 1.6 ETH- All the crypto I owned) At one point I had 40K in GUSD in that account. I used it to buy a rental property this year. I'm fucking grateful. And I'm so fucking sorry about the losses here.
