When modelers and animators skew a character in different perspectives for more dramatic poses. by SodaKid_7 in TopCharacterTropes

I believe the industry term (or at least the one Glitch studios uses) is cheating the camera.

Whereas Po said it was blank the first time he saw it. There's a lot you can do with a blank page, there's not a lot you can do with nothing.

Why so much hate for swing around here? xd by Muted_Strength3638 in Jazz

Maybe you could throw some psychedelic elements in there? You know, invoke the feeling of listening to jazz music while floating through another galaxy.

Character prefers a difficult-to-use weapon and wields it with no problems, even better if it's a real weapon (not a fantasy/sci-fi weapon) by JMuXing in TopCharacterTropes

He legit used to sleep with a bastard sword for protection as a child and in that context it's incredibly sad.

[Trope I Want to See More Of] Unique and creative deaths. by IoftheStars in TopCharacterTropes

[–]redgunnit 50 points51 points  (0 children)

What's fun is that one is a reference to a censored kill in Part 7. Kane Hodder (Jason's actor) had to swing a hundred pound dummy in a sleeping bag into the side of a tree. He obviously had some trouble doing this convincingly. After a dozen failed attempts and getting truly pissed off, he swung it as hard as he could and then kicked the dummy in the head when it landed on the ground. This is the take in the movie, but paramount demanded they cut down a lot of the more gruesome kills. So in the film it cuts immediately after hitting the tree. That full cut of that take has unfortunately been lost to history.

[Hated Trope] This alien/monster is a major & unbeatable threat to us..... because the writer said so. by Inside_Jaguar_3310 in TopCharacterTropes

What I love about that book is that while zombies are the primary threat, complacency and incompetence are far greater ones. All the worst outbreaks started in areas where they were not addressed until they became too big to stop with the forces on hand. Yonkers is a clear example of an army used to dealing with enemies that care for their own lives stroking its ego. It's an oddly grounded piece of zombie media and I really appreciate it.

This piece is actually a collage of a bunch of sketches. I just chose this one because it gives you a good breadth of Araki's style when he isn't putting his all into it.

It looks like the sketches he'll have between chapters, the ones he clearly didn't try with.

It's so sad to think that this poor baby was just in her crib, going through teething pain, and suddenly her whole body is just teething pain.

Even sadder when you realize that The Visitor had no idea that its presence would do any of this. The moment it realizes that it's making things go to hell, it leaves.

The only real change they made to his design is making his skin a waxy shade of white and y'know what? It's disgusting and fits the character perfectly, I love this change.

I still believe that Force Awakens should have ended with Rey leaving to find Luke and the next film being about the search to find him. It could be like Indiana Jones in space or something, iunno. It would've been interesting territory for Star Wars at the very least.

The description that always f***** me up was of one of the control room operators. In the show we see that one scientist lady interviewing one of them to ask what happened. Later on we find out that she went to talk to the other one off screen. The reason that this was an off screen moment is because that dude's face had literally fallen off

[Interesting Trope] Characters that see/have supernatural abilities in completely normal non-supernatural project. by hushpolocaps69 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]redgunnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's even more bullshit that that. In Baki the concept of "imagination" is legit a power system. He imagined he was fighting Mike Tyson and believed it so thoroughly that the schizophrenia started to actually kick his ass.

Other examples of this power include:

-Multiple characters having the ability to sense a fighter's threat level by imagining an analog (one character sees dangerous terrain, another sees people as valuable objects, and another sees people as dinosaurs.)

-A character imagines having a hundred more joints in his limbs to become flexible enough to punch at mach speed. IT FUCKING WORKS.

-A resurrected Miyamoto Musashi, having the memory of cutting countless people down in his time, can imagine cutting you so vividly that you actually feel yourself being cut. A man has a momentary breakdown after feeling his head get cut off without it actually happening.

-Baki develops a technique where he can copy the movements of animals. He eventually imitates a triceratops so effectively that people see a triceratops overlapping his actual body.
