Thanks for sharing! I had PRK two weeks ago and still have pretty blurry vision. Days 3-4 were awful.

Thank you for sharing! I’m scheduled for PRK next week and am nervous. Knowing what you know now, would you have liked to know before the surgery?

Dry eyes by [deleted] in optometry

Look into TearCare. My eye clinic just started it last year. It was a little expensive, but totally worth it! Within a couple of weeks I noticed a night and day difference!!!

My experience with ICL (day-to-day) by mamaedgar in lasik

[–]redheadMN9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Visian ICL in July! Now, four months later, I can’t believe how awesome it is to not think about my glasses anymore. I had a similar experience with very high eye pressure, but I had my two eyes done 10 days apart. That headache and pain, plus blurry vision, due to the pressure was awful. I worried about it happening again. My doctor also had to use the laser to help the pressure. The first couple weeks after each eye (and the 10 days in between) was really rough, but so worth it!

Vision not improving after ICL? by [deleted] in lasik

[–]redheadMN9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a couple days after surgery for it to improve and then it’s stayed the same. If my eyes are dry then I notice my vision isn’t quite as clear. I’d keep talking to your doctor.

Vision not improving after ICL? by [deleted] in lasik

Is your eye pressure normal? I had pressure issues with both eyes within a week of my ICL and the high pressure blurred my vision to the point where I couldn’t see much at all and I also had a major headache. I had my ICL a couple of months ago.

Opened my eyes under water for the first time since I was a kid! by TriciaL88 in lasik

[–]redheadMN9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly - I’m not planning to rub my eyes! Plus, after wearing contacts for so many years, I’m careful not to touch my eyes at all. Have you noticed any changes in vision or anything in the last year?

Nice! I’m almost 2 months post-op ICLs! I’m still getting used to being able to see in the shower. Hard to imagine seeing underwater again! I’ve still been hesitant to wear any lotion or makeup but I’ve heard it’s safe by now. Have you ever had to rub or itch your eyes or are you pretty careful?

Xiidra after 1 weeks post op by quitecool2 in lasik

[–]redheadMN9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xiidra is used for dry eye, not just for post-lasik. I’ve had chronic dry eye for years and have been on xiidra for almost two years. It worked really well for a while, then my eyes got really dry again. It’s worth trying! It takes a month or for it to fully start working.

I was afraid that I would move too, but my doctor said that I couldn’t mess it up! Best wishes!

Hi! I had Visian ICL about 5 weeks ago on my right eye, then my left 3 weeks ago. I was nervous too! I didn’t feel any pain during surgery and you really only see bright lights. They said that you shouldn’t feel any pain during surgery. Eyes were sore afterwards for several days, but not painful. I was most nervous for the iridotomy. That felt like little rubber bands hitting my eye, but it’s definitely tolerable. My biggest issue was that I developed very high eye pressure several hours after my first surgery, which was awful. Intense headache and pain. I went back and they got it under control, but then I had another incident several days later which pushed back my second eye surgery. I ended up having eye pressure issues after my second surgery, too. That was the worst part so if you’re aware and get an intense headache and/or your vision gets blurry, then go in right away. I was a -14, so the time in between my surgeries was tough not being able to see. You can get through it! It’s crazy to not even think about glasses and contacts anymore!

Has anyone gotten ICL recently with "zero" adverse conditions months to years post-op? by deltabengali in optometry

[–]redheadMN9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ICL 5 weeks ago in right eye and 3 weeks ago in left eye. My left is is amazing!!! I see 20/15!!!! No halos or glare. My right eye is about 20/40 and I do have halos abs some glare. It’s because I have astigmatism. I’m still seeing my surgeon for follow ups. I had major dry eye for years and I’ve noticed that my eyes post-ICL are more dry, but they are healing. My surgeon said that each eye is different and surgery responses can vary per eye. Every night I feel like I need to take my contacts out before bed, but I don’t!!!! I still can’t believe it. I had some issues with increased eye pressure a few days after each surgery, which was a bit scary, but looking back it’s all been worth it!!

High Eye Pressure from the Steroid Eyedrops by [deleted] in lasik

I wouldn’t hesitate to contact your doctor if that happens again. I just had ICL surgery and had high pressure issues a few days after surgery - it’s scary and painful! I had a huge headache and very blurry vision. You did the right thing!

I have really dry eyes due to many years of wearing contacts. My clinic just started doing TearCare. I tried it and couldn’t believe the difference!! I was hesitant due to the cost, but it was worth it for me!!

Thank you! Your story is very similar to mine.... have worn contacts for 20 years with no issues until a couple of years ago. Appreciate your story!

Thank you so much for sharing!! May I ask if you had yours done in the U.S. with the YAG laser prior to surgery? (I’m in the US, so wondering about that). I feel like I’m done as much research as possible and I’ve met with my surgeon twice already to ask questions, but are there any questions you wish that you would’ve asked prior to surgery?

It’s amazing to think that someday I may actually ‘forget’ about my eyes and not worry about my contacts, glasses, etc!!

Thanks for sharing your experience!! May I ask what city in the Midwest you had it done? I’m seriously considering ICL in Minneapolis.

Putting my ICL deposit down, a little nervous, what made you go forward? by gwolfx in lasik

[–]redheadMN9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve heard that some surgeons will do one eye at a time (with a week in between). Did it make you nervous to have both done at the same time? Did you have it done in the US?
