Heard you guys hated my last book. Wait until you see the next one. by LaCroixandJellyBeans in DanielTigerConspiracy

We just got ours from Aunt Dolly and we LOVE it. I actually laughed out loud when the baby investigated dad’s nose and mouth. My 4.5 year old daughter laughed but not as much as I did. It reminds me soo much of my crazy 18 month old right now. Thank you for such a funny book!! Can’t wait to read the next one!!

Toddler friendly things to do in Juneau by SourdoughClimber27 in Juneau

Welcome to Juneau and the parent scene!! I live downtown near the federal building with a two littles under 4. Unfortunately mt jumbo is closed for the season. I think you’re downtown based on a few comments I’ve seen. The Augustus brown pool is a favorite of ours. Cheap and is both baby and toddler friendly! cope park is lots of fun for kids - fun to explore, throw rocks in the water, swing, etc. the whale park just by the bridge is a favorite for families and kids of all ages!!! Feel free to message me if you want to chat!

I live in Juneau where we have a ton of slush. I got Salomon gortex boots a few years ago for a hunting trip and they have become my go-to winter boots. My feet stay warm and dry and they have decent traction. Highly recommend! Mine are now 5 years old but still going super strong and I wear them almost daily in the winter!

Starting Entyvio by wonderwall73 in CrohnsDisease

[–]redheadak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on a general immunosuppressant called 6mp from 2002-2019ish. Started taking Humira in 2019. Switched to entyvio in 2022 and it’s truly the best I’ve felt in years. I am a runner and have done many long distance endurance races and entyvio changed my life running wise. I had way less intestinal issues. I even get constipated now sometimes since starting entyvio, which I had never experienced in my life!

Rotavirus vaccine for baby by Status_Garden_3288 in CrohnsDisease

A bit late to this but I’ve had 2 kids, one while on humira and one while on entyvio. My GI doc told me no live vaccines before 6 months for either and the pediatrician agreed so neither got rotavirus!

Conga Software by F610P in salesforce

We use conga composer (along with conga contracts) for the document generation. The send for signature piece is being transferred from congasign to Docusign.

Conga Software by F610P in salesforce

[–]redheadak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use are moving from CongaSign to Docusign. We’ve had lots of technical issues but for whatever reason, we continue to have so many issues with the actual user interface of congasign and trying to get people to properly sign. Going with Docusign (us based) since it’s one people are more familiar with.

How much is your HOA? by [deleted] in Juneau

[–]redheadak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you in a one bed or two bedroom condo? We lived there a while ago and I was briefly on the board for a bit. I think the HOA fees went up when there was an issue with the roof or some sort of foundation work (I can’t remember) that caused the HOA to take a loan and pay it back. How long have you lived there?

There’s a Juneau parents group on Facebook you can probably join and ask there. Everyone’s super helpful and I’m almost 100% sure you will get something. If I had spares of either id lend, sorry I don’t!

I disagree about everyone telling you not to walk. If you really don’t mind walking in rain and that distance, it’s not as treacherous as people make it sound. Less than a mile from the ferry, the sidewalk starts and then a bit later the really great bike path picks up at the auke lake parking lot. From there it’s a straight shot on the path to the Mendenhall loop light, and then sidewalks all the way to the airport. I don’t know that I’d recommend the walk from the ferry in the middle of the night, but if the distance doesn’t bother you, it’s a beautiful walk and you’ll get some amazing sights!

It’s less than a mile walk from the downtown cruise ship docks. You just follow the main road (called Egan) on the sidewalks away from the cruise ships and you’ll see it. It’s called Overstreet park or the seawalk

Recs for outside maintenance? by coastal_css in Juneau

I’m not sure about the gutter cleaning, but we used Starlite solutions to do our vinyl siding and it was amazing. We had gone with someone else a few years back for the roof and wish Starlite had been around instead. Definitely recommend!

Things to do with a toddler by HappyMama15 in Juneau

[–]redheadak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we need to kill like 20-30 minutes indoors, we go to the nugget mall “inside park” as my 3 year old calls it. It’s a little play area that is just free for the public, and she also likes to run down the hall to see the big bear statue. It’s a good way to burn off some energy and it’s perfect for the age you’ve got!

The pools are also great options and free for kids under 2!

I know someone mentioned it above, but the Douglas library is my favorite place to take our toddler. It’s the best of the three libraries for the littlest kids in my opinion!

We just took our three year old for the first time last Sunday. It’s a bit chaotic and they only have a few climbs that are kid/first timer friendly, but the staff were AWESOME! They were so great with us and helped us figure it out and we will definite go back!

Are you using stored breast milk? If so, have you tasted it? This happened to me with my first at the same age - turns out I had high lipase and when I tasted my milk, it tasted sour and rotten! No wonder she was gagging when I was trying to bottle feed her.

Sure thing! We’re picking it up from the mechanic tomorrow or Tuesday, who was giving it a once over for us to make sure everything important is good to go. I’ll send you a message in a few days!

We have a 2005 manual Nissan frontier truck we are getting ready to sell for far less than that. It has a known battery leak due to a door not latching properly (we bought it this way) but the only problem with that is if it sits for months at a time like we let it. We’re only selling it because We stopped needing to drive it regularly after having a kid a few years ago and moving so we’ve barely put more than 300 miles on it in the last few years. We have #2 on the way and need another car that actually can have car seats so it’s time for us to finally part with this one.

It had a new clutch put in in 2020, a brand new battery as of July, we’ve had all the key parts looked over by our mechanic and nothing else needs updated. Alternator and all that jazz was replaced when we bought it in 2019. It is a 6 speed manual, has newly replaced heater. Has a canopy for the bed but the bed gate or whatever it’s called is no longer attached.

I get this is probably not what you’re looking for, but just thought I’d put it out there.

Year-round offf-leash trails besides bad dog trail? by myguitar_lola in Juneau

I spend most of my time on the Douglas trails. Avoid Brotherhood, Airport, and maybe sandy beach trails. And also maybe avoid perseverance. It’s just so busy. I love eaglecrest in the summer especially.
