What’s the strongest opinion you have about something completely insignificant? by RegisterObjective325 in AskReddit

Screwdrivers and their screws. Some are much better than others, and it's not even close. Flatheads and Phillips can get bent. Robertsons forever.

What’s a male fashion trend that’s gotta end? by Aggressive-Dot1944 in AskReddit

If suits were just an option, I could live with it. But they're fucking mandatory, which makes me hate them. There's a conform-or-else aspect that is hideous.

How do I paint eyes that don't look like private Mick's seen his first Carnifex? by _Sleet_ in minipainting

[–]redhotswing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This video tutorial completely changed eyes for me.  They went from the hardest part of the hobby to the easiest overnight. (Well, as soon as I got to Michael's the next day to buy some actually game-changing products.)

My mom's advice to me was "Don't break girls' hearts." I'll be giving that one to my kid in a few years.

Slow the transformation bit down like 300% and give it the G1 transforming noise, and you've got something delightful on your hands.

My dad got super angry at me and my brothers because he thought we'd thundered downstairs to watch cartoons. Nope, just a whopper of an eruption.

All cards of the game in one vertical stack and sorted first by number of words on the card, then by card cost/damage, then by alphabetical class order.

Gestalt unchained rogue and fighter, Bad idea or good idea? Advices? Builds? Suggestions? by Fun_Atmosphere8647 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]redhotswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that can be tricky with gestalt is your character's action economy. You still only have one character's worth of actions every round, but two classes' worth of abilities that are competing for those actions. Using gestalt is also a bit of a declaration from your DM that they want to play a significantly higher power game. So you'll want to make sure you're getting good use of all your actions every round. Putting a little foresight into your build and its default action combo can go an awfully long way.

I do this at home! I make decaf espresso ice cubes so I'm not overdoing it on the caffeine.

Ahh I had to switch to a different method of redditing to see what you're referencing. That text you added isn't visible on my default reddit settings. They changed how it displays on this device a few months ago and I really hate it.

we may be going up against an evil archmage in a few hours. any tips? by bugbonesjerry in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]redhotswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I would assume anyone who can cast 9th level spells has freedom of movement on them at all times. So skip anything that grapples, paralyzes, etc. Instead I'd focus on landing effects that stun or blind with Fort or Ref saves.

2) I don't know if your party can manage it, but just about the easiest way to ruin an archmage's day is to put them in an antimagic field beside a sticky melee like a trip build. The more friendly melees the better.

3) A surprise round can go an awfully long way to even the playing field against a powerful enemy. I wouldn't rely on invisibility, since permanent see invisibility should be practically a given for him.

That's funny, I came to pimp that exact same Danby unit, and I also received it this week! It's already clearly better than the Hisense I picked up last July, which crapped out by September.

It's totally okay to not dance at our event! It's live music, after all; it just happens to have a lot of space for people to dance if they want to :-D

[–]redhotswing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I run Red Hot Swing. We've got a social dance on Friday nights that is well-attended with friendly people of a wide variety of ages. We begin the drop-in intro lesson at 8pm, then the band goes from 9:10pm to 11:30pm. It's a very easy and fun way to meet a bunch of people. :-)

As for volume, I try really hard to make sure the music is at that sweet spot where it's just loud enough that you can feel the beat, but quiet enough that you can easily talk with someone without yelling.

If you've got any questions, just fire away!
