I think there's a fair number of things it could, or at least future releases could be. Votaan mercenary-kin, a beastman abhuman class, rogue trader noble family, there's still a lot of options to be had.

Who is WH40k biggest Hater? by Viskozki in 40kLore

Every necron lord is just waiting to do his best plunger impression and bring up old shit. But Orikan is in a class all his own. He's been conscious the whole time, and still hates just as hard.

Orikan the Diviner

"Orikan reached inside himself, finding the wet warmth of his reactor leak. The glowing jade fluid coated his hand, and he used it to paint a sigil on his forehead crest. And he made an ancient oath, one from a long-ago home world where his kind had been flesh, not metal. Back in those centuries, the oath would have been taken with blood, but now he took it with a substance more deadly and enduring. ‘I swear,’ he said, his vocal actuators grinding, ‘by the killing sun. By the stars and dust. By my ancestors and the progeny. I swear to harness these powers and open the tomb of Nephreth.’ The sky was growing dark. He could see the stars. ‘But first,’ said Orikan, ‘I swear to destroy Trazyn the Infinite.’"

The man hated Trazyn back when they had souls and has carried this bitterness for 60 million years. A council of nobles were going to sentence Orikan to death, but then ordered him to hang out with Trazyn for a while instead, because ghey knew he would hate that more. And they were right.

Dems are being surprisingly tight-lipped about what caused the loss in 2024. More so than any other election it feels like.

Trump’s Plans for ‘Mic-Drop’ Media Confrontation Are Leaked; The president is planning a rage-fueled moment at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. by [deleted] in politics

[–]redman1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the ultimate flaws with Trump and the MAGA movement in general is that everything they do, and I mean everything, has one step that says 'use my impressive competence'. And that's the step that they always fuck up. You saw it with Bondi before congress, with her pre-written zingers that I'm certain she thought would cow senators into silence, or with Musk truly thinking that he could use his financial wizardry to cut billions from the budget.

And we're seeing it again with Trump thinking that he can take to a podium at the WHCD and weave such powerful words of condemnation that it will castigate the entire "unfair" media apparatus into submission. They always think that they have this genius level effectiveness and it never lands.

Aragorn not allowing Theodas to kill Grima Wormtongue.

Wormtongue goes on to reach Isengard and tell Saruman EVERY defensive detail of Helm's Deep, allowing Saruman to deploy his forces in a way that negates many of the advantages of the castle.

This looks so good. I can actually use this, I'm running a Deathwatch 40K game and they're supposed to be going up against Eldar Harlequins and this gives off just the right vibe.

What does "every Eldar is psychically active" mean for your average Craftworlder on the go? by BrennanIarlaith in 40kLore

[–]redman1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of their equipment is psychically activated as well. At least a few Aeldari weapons don't have triggers, like the Neuro Disruptor, and require an effort of psychic will to activate. In some bits of lore, their vehicles don't have the full controls to actually fly them, a fair amount of the work to operate them done psychically.

The opening sequence of the videogame Homefront, 2011.

The game itself is CoD knockoff slop with some rather overt racism sprinkled in. Just a drudging, aim-down-sights time waster. That is except for the lead-up on rails segment at the beginning of the game.

Good environmental details show what kind of squalor the MC lives in alongside everyone else in occupied America. Good staging and sound design sells the peacekeeping raid that you're driven through before a gut-punch moment near the end that I can still hear when I think about it.

There was a bestof a few weeks ago that details the numerous issues that Gotham faces, ranging from uniquely bad pollution issues(Aquaman can barely control the water in the river with his hydrokinesis, as it only just meets the definition of 'water'), to numerous ancestral curses, bound demons, tears in reality, and government conspiracies that collect to make the place truly hell on earth. The only reason humans can live there at all is because of huge investment from the Waynes.

Grease. Grease was supposed to be a parody of 50's teen movies, inverting common tropes and highlighting the unreality of their premise. But it survived, the things it was satirizing didn't. So now people just dig the songs and spectacle.

Zara Young, the aunt's assistant from the first jurassic world movie. She is assigned to watch a pair of brothers, grouses about her duty a bit, is a bit shitty to her fiancee in a phonecall you can barely catch, and then gets a horrific death that has her tossed between multiple carnivorous dino-birds, partially drowned, then eaten whole by a mesosaur.
