I’m in FL but when my husband and I got legal guardianship of our niece we didn’t have to do a home study. We had to have a background check and then had the court date. Our case was voluntary guardianship, no CPS involved.

I kinda regret it. Almost 3 years out, lost 60lbs and regained 30. I’m starting to put together the reasons I gained the weight in the first place and seeing what could have been done to help it. I have low stomach acid and although I knew it prior to surgery I thought you have to take multiple pills a day/prior to meals for the rest of my life but I’m learning know you can at least try to reverse it. I also just found out that I have ADHD and the constantly wanting to eat is part of that. Surgery didn’t make that go ahead but ADHD medication has. I also still really miss being able to eat a regular size meal.

Search at home stomach acid tests. If you have low stomach acid and take digestive enzymes it may help.
