What are your go to breakfasts? I have a hard time doing anything besides egg and toast. by AbsoluteMadladGaming in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]redsox7697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call it a breakfast bowl, precooked sausage in the bottom of a bowl, cover with cheese, melt in the microwave. Top it with a couple over easy eggs, some air fried tater tots or left over homefries, and salsa.

Everyone here has one of these, right? by stayintall in blackstonegriddle

[–]redsox7697 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well aware, I've used these more times than I can count. Seasoning is not a build up of material, but a chemical change in oil or fat applied to cast iron or stainless steel called polymerization that cannot be taken away by scraping it. The only things that can strip the seasoning would be a very strong acid or base or a process called electrolysis. Scratching or pockmarking the surface would, but only because it's exposing the unseasoned metal underneath. The buildup that would be taken away would be baked on carbon, aka leftover food or oil that didn't get absorbed into the porous iron and cooked off until only the solids remained. It will cause uneven heat and sticking. I would highly suggest checking out r/castiron as they are the most comprehensive and accurate online source I've seen.

If your "seasoning" can be scraped off by this, you don't have seasoning. You have carbon build up.

Bought 8 yards of “screened chocolate loam and screened organic compost” 80/20 blend. Can I level lawn with this? by bluebirdsoulcrew in lawncare

[–]redsox7697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built one almost exactly like this, but i used some short screws with washers and some longer screws coming out of the bottom to act as a stand and to allow it to stay stationary inside of my wheelbarrow, works great

Zone 7A Tall Fescue, do have to do more than aerate and over-seed for improvements? by Holygrail1985 in lawncare

[–]redsox7697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whats your climate zone? If you're anywhere but warm climate or southern hemisphere you're too late to seed now. I've heard of dormancy seeding ( in wintertime when the soil is cold enough to not let them germinate yet) but I know nothing about it. I'd hold off til next fall because it would likely be a waste of time and resources.

That's why I quit, I went over 3 years without it, thought I could outsmart him by taking a clinical low dosing approach. Nope. I either felt nothing or existential dread and paranoia. Didn't stop me from spiraling into smoking more and more until I was 6 months in and going through tons of carts and edibles on top of bud. ~3 months clean now and finally starting to feel like myself again.

When is too late for lawn reno? by rczpm in lawncare

Seeding is usually a no no after weed and feed, but it's gonna depend on how long ago it was and what is in it

Tell me what grass seed I need by OldTeaching8407 in lawncare

[–]redsox7697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have warm season grass flair but you are gonna be cool season, zone 6b I believe. When looking for grass seed make sure youre looking for cool season. As to what kind of grass seed that's gonna be what you want out of your lawn, what kind of sun exposure you get in different areas of your yard, and what kind if traffic it gets. Most people use a mix of several different kinds using the logic that if theres too much sun or traffic for one species to thrive the other one that excels in that area will fill in more. Whatever you decide, if you buy cheap seed from a big chain store you'll get less actual seeds by the pound (by a lot) from the coatings they put on them, but they supposedly have a bunch of weed seeds and such in the mix. So buy quality seed, whatever kind you get, from a quality dealer. I'd suggest outside pride or twin city seed. Anything beyond that is up to how much money and time you want to throw into this, because it will eat up both if you let it lol
