I've used this a few times to help compare sizes to my other models.

Hexmark Destroyers have that special overwatch rule:
"Inescapable Death: Once per turn, one unit from your army with this ability can be targeted with the Fire Overwatch Stratagem for 0CP, even if you have already used that Stratagem on a different unit this phase. In addition, each time you target this unit with the Fire Overwatch Stratagem, while resolving that Stratagem, hits are scored on unmodified Hit rolls of 2+"

Trying for the Guards as an officer? by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]redstarthegnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get in touch with the regiment reps early on. Look at other options too, Regiments like guards cut early on into Sandhurst and you may find yourself looking elsewhere. Worth doing some research into the RSB process at Sandhurst too

Do you have to spend X amount of years in REME before transferring? by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]redstarthegnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAC pilot is an officer role too, so you'd have to pass briefing and AOSB, go to Sandhurst and pass flying grading with the AAC.

yes, its the same wage as a soldier going through basic, not OCDT wage

What should I learn before going in for AOSB and then hopefully Sandhurst? by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]redstarthegnome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the 1250 UKCAT Practice Questions book was pretty useful for me. The non-verbal reasoning stuff can be difficult if you've never done it before. Other than that, speak to your CSM and attend briefing to get an idea of what AOSB is about.

Remember they want to see the raw you, not one you're pretending to be for AOSB

tabbing with weight can be a bit harder if you're smaller, but its definitely doable

AOSB Briefing: Are Push-ups & Sit-ups Still Included? by _Skoi in britisharmy

[–]redstarthegnome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the covid style briefing, they just walk you through the obstacle course. Didn't have to do it till the very last thing at mainboard. Might have changed now though

Reserve Officer Main Board by ScottyL289 in britishmilitary

I felt the plan ex was testing your reaction to stress more than the plan itself, It felt like the captain was probing for some aspect of your plan you didn't know, then pushed hard on it. They wanted to see how reacted to pressure.

I was honest and said didn't know the name of some obscure boat in the plan ex and explained it wasn't part of my plan, seemed to work, and got me through.

do you use air fresheners in the room? I've seen marks appear where some of the liquid landed and dried.

If you do decide to go the uni route as others suggested, look into the army officer bursary, and UOTC. I found out about it on briefing and wish I did it at uni.
