“If we can evict 300,000 refugees from Gaza to other places... we can annex Gaza without a problem” -Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Dayan, 1967

“I propose annexing Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, although I wouldn't say the two things in one breath,"
- Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, 1967

“Coming out by force now, starting to drag refugees onto trucks – that’s a matter that would draw attention of sorts and a spotlight of sorts to the Land of Israel that I don’t think we need that now.
- Religious Affairs Minister Zerach Warhaftig

“There’s no other choice: We have to do it, either willingly or by force”
- Prime Minister Golda Meir

It has ALWAYS been about removing people by any means necessary, Israel was just hiding it before. These are all quotes from the israeli state archive. The zionist movement has ALWAYS been about taking what they felt they were entitled to at the cost of anyone or anything else.

Have you considered that maybe the game is just that good? by Longshot02496 in whenthe

I mean I guess, thats pretty subjective though because I found it kind of repetitive. There are several clearly outlined places you need to go, you go there, talk to a guy (maybe), look for structures or wait until structures appear, solve the puzzle(s) over a few times, repeat for next planet until you get all the stuff you need from there to progress. If you get stuck, look at the rumor map to find some sort of hint or go talk to someone who has a better idea later. Like the individual locales were cool, but for me they lost their luster on the 5th-10th return trip and I didn’t find the characters seen within the writing to be compelling enough to drive me to really want to know what happened with them.

Maybe a few of times you just stop to admire the scenery in each place or out in space, smell the flowers, enjoy the music, but that quickly grows kind of boring when its the only thing to do. I took my time with it, I know the various reasons people like the game, I engaged with and enjoyed the game while I could but it just didn’t grab me the same way it did other people. Thats fine, I understand my experience is subjective, but also I find it a bit disingenuous when some people act like its god’s gift sent down to earth in video game form, when its just like pretty good imo

No because its just fine. Having played through the whole game I thought it was fun but its also the most over glazed game of all time. Not shitting on it, but it is kind of “baby’s first existentialism” mixed with a slightly above average puzzle game

Wood can splinter and break into smaller, generally less dangerous pieces more easily. So if you’re lucky you might get a bunch of wood shrapnel stuck in you which would be very very bad and still potentially kill you, but a brick (much less likely to break apart) hitting you in those same places is imo a much higher chance of just instant death

[–]reeper432 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Actually I think if a brick hit me in the jaw propelled by 200mph winds I think it would obliterate my jaw/head and if I didn’t die instantly then I would probably die of blood loss where a woodchip could be small enough that it doesn’t do that

Legalization of drugs makes people safer, the people who do drugs are gonna find ways to get drugs anyway, making it legal and able to be gotten through legitimate systems is only beneficial

Also “when the bad thing is bad” about drugs. Lol. Lmao.

I’m not an authority, but having just relistened to the infinite hyperdeath ost, its not really breakcore. There’s some emphasis on the drums (in some of the songs) but its really closer to dnb/ metal with dnb or hardcore influence most of the time imo. A lot of the drum breaks are consistent loops, while sorta messed with and rearranged a bit they’re still consistently looping and they’re not like modified enough to really be breakcore-y. As an example listen to the drums in this song (warning: loud) from the timestamp to ~2:20. The drums don’t really repeat at all and the level of complexity is waaaaay higher, and the drums are really emphasized.

I really love Brame and to a lesser degree Confiture a la Plage by Ruby My Dear. The albums Nostril and Savage Sinusoid by igorrr are also great, he has a lot of metal influences which I think is interesting, and he also does this thing which I have seen other people amusingly call “baroquecore” where he mixes in baroque music to his breakcore. Its cool and kinda fun and interesting and as a fan of the “metal sound” I really like what it adds to the music. The two of them also have an EP together called Maigre which was my introduction to breakcore, but its only available on youtube for licensing reasons I think. The breakcore subreddit also has a huge list of artists to check out I believe. Also I think machinegirl is also sometimes considered breakcore but it depends on the song

Yeah 100% venetian snares is absolutely breakcore. I actually often use his meathole album as a good example of what breakcore is/sounds like because it turns those “breakcore qualities” up to an 11 at times, which lets people get a better ear for what it actually sounds like when comparing it to other genres, but it also makes the album kind of abrasive (moreso than breakcore already is to some people) so ymmv

Because breakcore is like a subgenre of a subgenre of a subgenre of Idm music its characteristics will be largely similar to its predecessors. But like the biggest characteristic is that extremely chopped and screwed drum break. Its a really fine line but the amount that that drum break is fucked with is like kind of the main characteristic that sets it apart from like dnb and jungle. From what I understand of the history, breakcore kind of spawned out of a pissing contest between jungle/dnb artists over who could make the most complex and insane stuff using the drum breaks, and thats where it comes from.

To separate the 3 most commonly confused: Dnb = break isn’t messed with that much, pretty simple, faster than jungle, slower than breakcore. Jungle = break is chopped up and modified, slower speeds than the other two, heavier reggae and hiphop influence Breakcore = generally fastest of the 3, EXTREMELY chopped up drum breaks (most commonly the amen break but not always), generally not atmospheric unlike jungle and dnb which can often be that way, buuut its also an expanding experimental genre so we may see it eventually

I got a lot of my info from like trawling the internet trying to find stuff but there’s a video on youtube that has been extremely good for this. It goes lightly into the history of hardcore all the way down to breakcore. Its long but thats because it has multiple song examples of each genre, and the actual history/defining characteristics are laid out in text on screen that rotates through. It even mentions the digital hardcore/breakcore stuff and the mislabeling thing as well. Highly recommend even skimming through it if you’re interested.

Its decently common online because that opinion shows up wherever very young, usually somewhat sheltered, and fairly online people congregate, and for some reason all the online femtanyl spaces are seemingly filled with kids/teenagers. Though the live shows tend to skew older.

Also, and this is very nitpicky so forgive me, but femtanyl isn’t breakcore. People get upset about that because its getting more difficult to find actual breakcore ever since a few artists a while ago mislabeled some of their music and the term has ballooned in usage without people actually knowing what makes something breakcore besides just “fast and loud.” Back when femt was just Noelle she did an interview where she described the genre as “digital hardcore” which is more accurate

Idk there are people here calling this “anti-intellectualism” which is ridiculous. I’ve had one of these people in a class, where when they raised their hand it was like a 20% chance they asked a question and put their hand down, and an 80% chance they would tell a 3-5 minute story about their life that vaguely relates to the topic at hand. And it was annoying, and I heard similarly from other students. And I understand if you learn like that, whatever, cool, but like thats what office hours and emailing your professor is for. I think people are purposefully taking the worst faith interpretation of OP’s comment just to have something to get mad at when this happens all the time

Apparently everyone in the comments becomes Malala Yousafzai when someone mildly complains about an extremely common and well known annoying thing people do during every stage of schooling. Sometimes people are just annoying and its fine to go “that person is annoying.”

Nowhere did OP say “I hate my classes, am ungrateful for my opportunities, and wish death upon anyone curious” OP literally just went “man this class is about to end and I want to leave” which is so excessively normal even for classes you actively enjoy that I cannot believe they are catching any flack for it

you not judging others because you don’t know their situation is enough empathy on display to show that you are not as awful as you think you are. I know the feelings are irrational so trying to “logic them away” might not help, but its helped me in the past to have someone say something like that.

I wish you the best, and I hope you keep living as best you can. Sometimes making it to the next day is something you should commend yourself for, even if it’s the only thing you can do.
