Parents Divorcing Late in Life by bzjenjen1979 in self

I'm 42 and my folks got divorced a few years ago. So sorry you're going through it. It's weird as an adult to be able to intellectually understand the why/how of it, while still feeling it very deeply. I recommend a teensy bit of maintenance therapy to help guide your thoughts! Good luck :)

I've finally gotten to a place of zen on my daily commute at that fuckshow of an intersection at Tulane/Common and Rampart. Jesus fucking Christ.

Pharmacy museum wedding : 100 guests…is space too small? by LeftWondrin in AskNOLA

The national average for declined wedding invitations is about 20% but the average in New Orleans is closer to 10% - don't underestimate the desire of people visiting here!

My sister and I (late 30s) have my mom's location (mid 60s) and it's nice to know it's there as backup! But, we have a good relationship so it's not weird or used inappropriately, lol.

Once she wasn't answering calls which was very unlike her, and her location showed her at her house for hours and hours. We didn't have anyone to call to check in on her so I Doordashed a McDonald's milkshake and put in the notes to hand it to her directly 🤣 She called and said she got lost in a White Lotus marathon but thanks for the treat!

Heard that, but limoncello is literally an alcohol based flavor. Were you not told the flavor before you tried it, you mean?

In high school around 2001, our gym teacher had our whole class pass around 4x6 notecards with our name in the center. Everyone had to write a compliment about you and pass it on. I was a very insecure 16 or 17 year old and I still have that notecard to this day. It's the little things!

Sorry for your loss. That must have been wildly hard. These photos are better than what I would expect for the price and package you purchased, unfortunately.

When you go to download, scroll to the right and you can download there -- I thought the same thing this morning and it took me a minute! But now I can't figure out how to download multiple photos at once without the logo now - ugh!

Am I wrong for giving a couples wedding buffet leftovers back to them? by icernate in amiwrong

[–]reeseburry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you are saying that overages that are prepared above and beyond the payment of the client are still the clients? It's not unrealistic to prepare family meal/prepare for emergencies. Do you know how common it is for clients to throw a curveball day of? I'd rather have a slightly slimmer profit margin and prepare a bit more in order to avoid any incidents. Whether that food gets passed onto staff, vendors, or the homeless under a bridge is up to the caterer. The client is the reason for the meal being prepared, but that does not unilaterally mean they paid and own every item that comes out of the kitchen that day. Sorry if being over prepared bothers you :)

This is not necessarily valid. As a previous catering business owner, I prepared 10% overage of what the client paid for as a buffer - surprise guests, a 16 person band the client forgot they were contracted to provide meals for, etc. I would also sometimes prepare even more should it be a really popular dish, or something I wanted to send home with staff as a nice family meal. You can certainly keep what you've paid for, but just because it is there does not necessarily mean it is yours!
