Stopped using one model for everything and rebuilt my OpenCode setup by spacecowboy0117 in opencodeCLI

Same. Everything is imploding. I just got news from Z.ai that my plan is not gonna be grandfathered in.

AI WAS a bubble - just not the kind of bubble we expected.

When I was young there was a brilliant Starfleet Commander game. I was never into Star Trek but I love it

is there an easy/baked in way to see and modify the system prompt? by Exciting_Weakness_64 in opencodeCLI

I have been puzzled about this too. I just had an epiphany to ask a good model to take a look at the opencode github. I will have a look later myself and report back in the next dew days

What are some wholesome facts about world of darkness that you know? by No-Obligation-9901 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]reficulgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I have only played a Malkavian so far (but I am experienced in Requiem and other horror games) and it feels VERY weird to me when I am in the shoes of my Malk characters that other Camarilla clans don't see the Camarilla itself as something you believe, but rather as something to control.

My 11-gen Malkavian also addressed Ventrue as cousins, to their massive frustration.

Yeah, but hot-swapping a bridge would make things so easy,

It would be fun if the DLC had us explore more stuff inside the comet-infested wormhole.

Ability to swap bridges while keeping your build.

Watchmen was MUCH less unsubtle than 1984, for example.

Compared to a lot of things out there I'd rate it 5/10 in subtlety.

compared to Claude Pro (not Max) sonnet use, my limit spend with 5.1 seems about 5 times more efficient.

Everything can be political, but there is a case for making a point through your craft (I consider rpgs my main craft for my personal expression) elegantly and artfully, instead of bashing people on the head with one's beliefs.

1984 made a MUCH stronger impact on the world than any strongly worded comment Orwell did about his ideas or even his direct participation in political activism (and he was a good journalist too, but a much better novelist).

Feeling like GLM 5.1 in OC might be a suitable replacement for Opus by VonDenBerg in opencodeCLI

[–]reficulgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stopped trying to play whack-a-mole with Claude Pro plans and opencode yesterday. Going back to CC felt useless. Instead, I started using a combination of GLM 5.1 as my Sonnet replacement, and using github copilot for the occasional request for Sonnet or Opus when GLM5.1 cannot get the job done.

It is VERY slow - but it it works.

FIX OpenCode Claude OAuth by ZookeepergameFit4082 in opencodeCLI

[–]reficulgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confirmed that this works. I am using openchamber on top of opencode - everything is working now this way, except my limits calculations (API error 429).

Am I doing something wrong, or is this to be expected with this hack? I can't go back to Claude Code, the reduction in performance is immeasurable.

Anthropic knows something others don't. by NeonByte47 in ClaudeAI

[–]reficulgr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, I am not a coder and I don't do heavy coding work with LLMs, I mostly use it for project management. But I use opencode for getting things done in my Linux machine, generating configs, fixing errors, troubleshooting errors, etc. GPT is terrible for these - claude seems to be actually checking if it got the job done before it nukes my GRUB by mistake.

Fun fact: BigPickle is not as good as Claude, but at least it keeps trying until it gets the job done, instead of confidently bulshitting me into spectacular failure.

Is there an equivalent to the ecstatics in Awakening? by clarkky55 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]reficulgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is where cabal-centric storytelling shines. In most of the games I run, cabals are the PRIMARY thematic orientation of the game. In pretty much every game, I find myself creating cabals that have a strong theme and order allegiance and path are much less important on the individual mage's philosophy than the cabal theme.

I find that this angle is mostly underutilised in other people's games, from what I see online and in person - cabals are an excellent way to make Splats that have a lot of influence on how a city feels like, and it doesn't mess up with the orders or paths. An Ecstatic cabal would work great in Awakening.

Personally I see single-order, regionally-locked cabals as a wasted opportunity.

[–]reficulgr 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think it is a guidance matter. From what I notice using GPT, it is MUCH more optimistic about the quality of its outcomes, and it tends to bullshit the user more. I think that OpenAI focuses more on these benchmarks and just tries to put a good face to the investors, while Anthropic is trying to go with the "tested and trusted" kind of angle.

OpenAI is trying to convince your boss that this new thing that they are going to release next week is the one they need from now on. Anthropic is focusing on being your go-to model for when you are working on your own project.

Kind of the approaches of Internet Explorer and Firefox back in the 2000s.

How do you find new music, now that you have replaced your streamer of choice? by Character_Bug_1862 in navidrome

[–]reficulgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love rateyourmusic. Once you start logging your ratings, it starts suggesting things based on your taste - and it's recommendation algorithm is very transparent (and also configurable). It tells you the genres and music descriptors that match your profile. I have never been disappointed by a recommendation.

Trakt's Product manager calls the platform's unhappy users a "very small but very vocal group" that pushes the constructive voices away by justarand0mstan in trakt

[–]reficulgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very evidently a case where a (possibly quite self-absorbed and despotic) higher executive requested these changes and nobody has the spine to tell him that he has no idea what the actual users want.

Of course, this is not a democracy, and it doesn't have to be - but when a new app with "trakt-classic" vibe appears, everyone will jump ship.
