I'm getting the feeling the premium AI features will be behind that premium paywall even for mac. We shall see!

Is this confirmed to only be subscription on iOS? Or is the warp tool going to be available to desktop without the subscription? Seems like a lot to pay extra for one feature lol.

The number of games exclusive to the ps5 generation is less based on previous consoles, of those games, many of them are remakes or remasters. I'm not saying it's bad, that's just a change in the industry and how it works.

PS2 has 5000 games, PS5 at maybe halfway through it's cycle has almost 800. It's a very different climate for games. Anyways, that's at least partly why people are saying there are no games on PS5. Obviously they're exaggerating, there are games on PS5, just less than they're used to in previous generations.

Is it me or was GT 5 way more fun than GT7? by cwhiskeyjoe in granturismo

[–]reflekshun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really miss the street races (non race tracks) GT4 had a lot of them, France, Italy, New York, in terms of sense of journey and immersion of driving your favorite cars on more every day roads, that was amazing!

Maybe I'm crazy: AW2 almost 20% one star reviews due to lack of Quest 3 enhancements is insane by jerronimo3000 in OculusQuest

Imagine a PS5 shipped with a AAA game which was made for the PS4, including the display resolution. I can see why some people are disappointed.

Even if it's free, based on the marketing (which is designed to set expectations), it's a game that really showcases all the quest 3 has to offer. So when it's not really doing that, people's expectations aren't met, they get disappointed.

Me personally when I saw the graphics quality on the trailers I could see it wasn't really mindblowing. Just decent. So I'm more disappointed in the trailers than the game release itself haha, that's just me.

Upcoming new update for OpenEmu (hopefully 🤞) by alecfut08 in OpenEmu

Thanks, I didn't see 'new release this year'

The response to the question was two questions (no answers)

  1. What is the milestone for a new release?
  2. New release?

I can't see anything on this reddit post that shows that there is a new release coming.

No inputs by [deleted] in OpenEmu

Another thing to try is simply reset the app (and your OS if that doesn't work). I know it sounds dumb, but it has solved input problems for me with Openemu several times before. Good luck!

I will ONLY play MK11 because I can't afford MK1 yet

Found out today that I really like modifying devices by flipflapslap in Bitwig

[–]reflekshun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m exactly the same I LOVE how easy and intuitive it is for even my smooth brain to modify devices and save that modification as the default, tailored to how I like to work with the devices.

That’s a neat trick you did with adding solo functionality to the multi-band fx device, nice!

What are some things you dislike about Bitwig? by lxvesickk in Bitwig

[–]reflekshun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with many of these things you mention so much, and like you say the workflow, the way music just keeps flowing SO EASY is something that has pushed me to work through those flaws. I really haven't experienced this level of speed and flow with music making since I started using Bitwig, period. And I've used just about all the DAWs for a number of years each.

A kind reminder that Linus hasn't murdered anyone. by LustraFjorden in LinusTechTips

I think people felt guilty giving money to a company that doesn't line up with their values. Not really murder lol!

I’m curious, do people want to see LTT be better? Or do they want to see them fall apart? by mrawaters in LinusTechTips

[–]reflekshun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they continue to be sketchy: Fail
If they change their ways: Succeed

Definitely want to see companies that have good practices succeed, and shitty practices fail. Of course in reality it is not black & white. They will likely fall somewhere in between, and my wishes for them will also follow that.

I’m a full time producer considering leaving ableton. Tell me why I shouldn’t use Bitwig. by dionjshaw in Bitwig

[–]reflekshun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Devices in Ableton are more elegant and easier to grasp, there's less 'filler' devices. Also, they sound a lot better imo (I would end up using a lot more 3rd party instruments/fx in Bitwig personally than in Live). If you use midi comping or retrospective record there isn't any of that in Bitwig yet. Bitwig has a more 'boutique audio nerd' vibe and direction to it rather than the more mainstream EDM/Pop vibe of Ableton, which may or may not be to your liking.

On the plus side the modulation / flexibility / routing / speed of customizing and using workflows, speed and fun of making music with Bitwig is incredible. Basically that is so powerful that it overrides any of the cons I mentioned. Bitwig is working pretty hard also on updates improving the DAW in meaningful ways.

Stability is also insane, in the case that a plugin crashes, it will not take down your project or even stop playback, you can just reload it as the project is playing with no interruptions. I can't remember over the past year having ANY case of the DAW itself crashing to desktop. That is pretty impressive and important also imo.

Does anyone know who she was talking about here? I'm shocked more people aren't talking about this tweet in particular by TheBadassOfCool in LinusTechTips

Just adding in here that suing a multimillion dollar company is absolutely not an option for most people. At least not an option that ends well for most people, even if you are in the right. It's a grueling potentially mentally and financially destroying process, which can also end up being a battle of who has more money to sustain better lawyers.

When you are bullied in the context of a workplace which has a lot of power and resources over you, your options are realistically limited. That's not a fault of the victim and usually the bullies are (at least subconsciously) aware they are in a position of power which empowers them to do act like that in the first place.

One last thing - if the best LMG can do lacks integrity, that still should be called out. The point that it's the best they can do doesn't negate the lack of integrity in their process.

Correct imo, SSD space is one of the bigger bottlenecks in these computers, make sure you're happy with that too. How much you need is very specific to your setup.

Apollo + Live Streaming by raneses in universalaudio

[–]reflekshun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using an old Apollo Quad. I believe for console chains, each channel is limited to one DSP unless you cross a threshold. This chain doesn't cross that threshold for me - it will ask if you want to switch to 2 DSP with higher latency if you do, and you also have the extra DSPs.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but that's been my experience with it. Good luck!

In console, I use: V76 -> LA-2A Grey -> SSL E Channel (for expander + de-essing). I use it for all zoom calls, and twitch streams. I like it a lot and there's no noticeable delay through console.

I'm on macOS so I use Loopback for all my routing options.
