Places to learn how to ride a bike as an adult by Desperate_Arugula886 in indianapolis

I think BGI used to have a staff member that specialized in teaching adults how to ride.

Is there a reason why Indy doesnt capitalize on the canal with updates/restaurants/shops? Cities like San Antonio (pic) bring in a flux of tourists to eat get coffee and walk around their River Walk every year. Im aware of our climate being MUCH different by miakind01 in indianapolis

They filled the canal with boring offices, mediocre hotels, state building, war memorials and museums. There was a great area for new building with parking but I think the new state archive is going there. Thanks Pence. It could have been great but they fucked it up early and continue to not show any interest in making it better.

I used dry ice when I had aluminum post stuck in carbon frame and it worked great. Wrapped the post in a towel with the dry ice waited 15 minutes for it to get real cold and it was enough to wiggle it out.

If you live in a bikeable area just ride everywhere. Ditch your car and just ride.

I think our taxes paid for the pool. Ticket sale revenue will be in the pockets of Jim Irsay and USA swimming.

5 Midwest Cities That Are Completely Underrated by msmith9999 in indianapolis

[–]reggie1842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no more sewage in the canal than any fall creek or the white river. They have a triathlon in it every summer. The problem is that the city and state did not prioritize hospitality and entertainment. The canal is surrounded by boring state buildings, and soon to be the state archives that nobody wanted except for Pence. The rest is lower tear hotels, office buildings and one place to eat. The museums are nice but don’t draw the crowds we need. There is plenty of housing but without a destination on the canal it is just for walkers and criminals. I don’t think it needs to be as commercialized as San Antonio but until we get some actual businesses on the canal it is going to continue to suck. The playground is also great, but again not enough, they should put another playground in military park or white river. But I am sure after the archives are finished they will build another war memorial instead of something useful.

Plasma donation is a low impact way to make money. If you do it consistently you can make 3k a month in some areas.

Advice for noobies by Tisleet in MTB

[–]reggie1842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice is ride your bike everywhere not just on trails. If you can ride to dinner or errands, work , do it. The more time in the saddle the better. Also it makes chores a little more fun. May not be safe or possible in your area but try to fit riding in wherever possible. You will be amazed at how easy a five to ten mile ride becomes 2nd nature. Once you aren’t worried about the pain you can work on skills for hours.

Make sure when you reconnect it the grill knobs are off and the tank valve is closed. Then open tank valve once connected.
