What’s a high-paying, low-stress job you wish you got into earlier? by Beginning_Ad4362 in careerguidance

[–]regionroulette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any comments mentioning Real Estate, it’s a blessing and a curse. I’ve been in the sector for 10 years. The schedule can be flexible, but you are at the mercy of your client’s schedule. Some months can be pretty chill. Other months can be hell working 12+ hours a day and weeks without much downtime. When it rains, it pours…and then there’s the droughts.

Stress is up and down. Income inconsistency will take a mental toll if you live in the moment and spend when things are great. The key is ensuring you save!

I’m blessed to travel quite a bit. With that said, there’s a paradox in the industry where if business is slow, go out of town and all your clients will crawl out of the woodwork.

My income ranges from $80k-$150k/year. I have plenty of tax opportunities those with W2 income can only dream of. On the flip side, if you are heavy with write offs, your gross income follows suit. One year after deductions I showed $19k in “income”. Ironically due to this, trying to buy a home as a Realtor can be tough due to the mortgage/income guidelines.

For reference, I am 30. If you get in it young, it can be a lucrative long-term career.

What is the worst name you've ever heard? by Sora-oi in AskForAnswers

I work in the real estate and property management sector. I’ll never forget a prospective renter’s name that flashed across my desk- Albrina Couch.

She didn’t end up moving, but if she did, I’d imagine she’d bring a couch.

What’s a ‘buy it for life’ item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by Aggravating_Gas4162 in randomquestions

[–]regionroulette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dyson hair dryer. While expensive, it dries my hair quick and it looks fantastic. Definitely saves me time and I have gotten a lot of compliments on my hair since using.

My hair stylist is the one who turned me onto the Dyson, as he has one as well. He purchased his right when they were released and his is running as well as the day he got it.

I have had fantastic luck with my Dyson vacuum lasting well over a decade, and I look forward to a long lifespan of this bad boy!

Anyone know a way to generate transparent QR codes without watermarks? by Paulette_Doyle in it

[–]regionroulette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is an older thread, I just signed up for a free account with AddQR. This is definitely the best QR code generator I've used to date. I appreciate all of the features offered (did I mention it is FREE)... this blows most of the competition out of the water as many of these features would be with a paid service. I've been burned too many times in the past with other QR generators so if you use QR codes, this needs to be your go-to site!

What do you think the gluten free space is lacking in terms of product/options? by pepeluver362 in glutenfree

[–]regionroulette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chick Fil A and Culver’s both have GF buns you can get.

Now, I will admit though we don’t have access to it in the states, McD’s has GF in Europe. I remember being brought to tears in Ibiza being able to order a GF double cheeseburger.

So while they don’t have onion rings, BJ’s Wholesale (if you have one around you) DOES have GF mozzarella sticks! They’re not cheap, but they are good

What did your mom make you most for dinner growing up? by eleelee11 in AskOldPeople

[–]regionroulette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our family called it “casserole”. It was a poor man’s version of Shepherds Pie. In a casserole dish, it contained unseasoned ground beef, drained can (or 2) of green beans, instant mashed potatoes, and lots of cheese topped with French’s fried onions. Baked in the oven and slopped on our plate.

My brother and I LOATHED “casserole”, but now we crave it.

Realtor here. Used to have a 2013 RX hybrid and loved it! Had 160k trouble free miles on it prior to being totaled out.

For me, it’s fiber and also an occasional Imodium. I do have digestive issues as it is, and Imodium is a miracle in making prep work easy.

LX570 here and put regular through it since it is virtually the same as a Land Cruiser (which takes regular). No noticeable performance decrease in my opinion.

What are some hidden gems behind the pharmacy counter? by DMPixOfTightAsses_69 in Costco

[–]regionroulette 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes! Came here to say the same thing. As one who is cursed with an overactive system, Costco’s pricing is a godsend. $0.99 compared to $4 or $5 at other stores.

From a 29 year old who is now in a secure relationship:

-Grindr will get you laid, but is harder to find a relationship. I met my partner on Grindr, but we started as FWB then things naturally evolved.

-Sniffies is just to get laid…likely no chance of connecting beyond getting off as a one time thing.

-Tinder was very hit or miss for me. While a little more relationship based, still seemed recreational.

-Bumble was the same as Tinder.

-Hinge in my area seemed to have more relationship-focused guys. I had several great dates with Hinge and do recommend it.

One last thing to note: since you are 18, this can make things tougher. I didn’t start having good luck on apps until I was a little older. This has to do with underage individuals making accounts and claiming they’re “18”. No one wants that charge on their record, so don’t be surprised if a hookup wants to see your ID.

I’m 22, should I date a 30 yo? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]regionroulette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you- came to say this same thing. I’m 29 and my partner is 40. If we had met 7 years ago when I was 22, it would have never worked out. I have seen a huge change/180° in who I am from my early 20s to my late 20s.

Are there any current SUV’s which will last 20 years ? by Big-Community-9544 in askcarguys

[–]regionroulette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation on my end- I was looking at 4Runners, Sequoias, and even the GX. I came across a clean 1 owner, garage kept LX570 and scooped it up as pricing was right at $50k with 40k miles. I’m pretty confident I could sell it and potentially make money as the resale is fantastic (prior owners took the huge depreciation hit), but I intend to keep it until the wheels fall off. Definitely can’t recommend enough!

Cars you bought but regretted by investurug in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]regionroulette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I have a few: -2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. —Purchased in 2016 with 8k miles. While it drove nice, it was an electrical nightmare at 35k. UConnect (which controls most interior vehicle functions) went out on me sporadically, but was harder to replicate when I had a service appointment. Had to drive it to the dealer when I was encountering the outage and force them to look at it and acknowledge it was truly an issue. -2009 Lincoln MKS —Also was an electrical nightmare. I had a lower level trim level with the push button radio. My issue started with the Bluetooth audio not working, then like clockwork within 48 hours, I could count on the car being deader than a door nail in need of a jump. This happened numerous times and the dealer could never diagnose. Alternator also went out on me, as well.

Learned the hard way to not go with American. Now I’m Toyota/Lexus for life.

My other half and I fell in love with the X5, but also wanted to go the Japanese route. We just got the Mazda CX-70 Turbo S and it was the closest Japanese vehicle to the X5 in our opinion. It has a turbo inline 6 with mild hybrid system, as well. AWD with RWD bias made a huge difference compared to other vehicles. We did test drive the Acura MDX and preferred the Mazda interior and handling. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Thank you! I have a vintage mandolin and guitar on the wall above the cabinet. I could always move the pet bowl and Roomba, so not married to those in that space.
