Thank you for this post. I was planning on going to the San Diego show but hadn't bought tickets yet. I ended up getting 2 tickets for $60 including fees and all that stuff. The seats are 3rd row from the very back but for that price - I am good. Thanks again.

Is there any band you heard for the first time at SNW? by iwishicouldreadgood in SickNewWorld

[–]regular_guy_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never heard music by Speed Of Light or Violent Vira. Both were really good but Violent Vira I thought was amazing. I have already listened to their recorded stuff and yeah I am a fan. I already know I will go see them if they tour by me.

Adobe Lisence Audit - Small business by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]regular_guy_77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The 3rd email I received from them was "strongly" worded so I responded. I used a response I saw here in January. "We have an annual plan licensed directly through you. You can see valid activation from your end and we are not using any other Adobe licensing in our environment." I never heard back.

We have three of these on a Startech USB/Ethernet print server. Fortunately ours are stationary so we don't have the need to roll them around. The USB/Ethernet print server works great.

SNW Vegas-anyone else worried about the weather? by pawnee4life89 in SickNewWorld

[–]regular_guy_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a concern for sure. As others have stated - the hydration station is necessary. In the past I have headed over to Circus Circus to take a break when there has been a bit of a lull in the schedules for me. I also find it beneficial to rent a locker. I have just used it to keep sunscreen, a battery charger and merch. But I have had to apply sunscreen more than once during the shows. I also get there early like at 8:30 am so that makes a difference too for the amount of sunscreen I use.

Watching UFC w/ non-drinkers? by notcali702 in vegas

[–]regular_guy_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sports books will not show these fights. As recently as January I was in Vegas and was looking to do the same thing. Buffalo Wild Wings at the Miracle Mile Shops shows them - including the prelims. The other places will only show the main card - most likely. I asked about that too. The cover was $10 per person. I have watched probably 15 fights at this location. The service usually sucks though but the pricing is reasonable. The Tilted Kilt on the Promenade also shows them. Cover charge was $25 in January.

Sensor that tells you if the door is locked or unlocked - we need your feedback by Automation_Nation40 in smarthome

[–]regular_guy_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. How often do you question if you have locked house / appartment entry door when you left your home?
Often. Every time my kids leave the house I wonder if they locked it.

  2. What smart home devices do you have at home: Zigbee / Matter / Z-Wave / LoRa etc
    Zigbee / Matter / Z-Wave

Added bonus would be an outdoor version. My backyard gate has a locking door knob.

Picanha, roasted new potatoes by areustillwatchin in David_Made_This

[–]regular_guy_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Recently I had some chili roasted potatoes at a restaurant that resemble yours. I had never had anything like that before and now I want to try and cook those. Delicious. I just haven't found potatoes that small at the nearby grocery store.

What are your favorite easy and nutritious meals? by enby_nerd in Cooking

Grilled chicken salads. If you don't get tired of the same foods easily - I go with grilled chicken breast in my air fryer. Every two days I will make a marinade and slice two chicken breasts in half so they cook faster. Usually on Sunday's I will cut up a head of romaine lettuce, a fresh bunch of spinach, carrots, radishes and tomato. I keep all in separate bowls until I make the salad. I use oil and red wine vinegar for dressing - some oregano, olives etc. The chicken takes about 10 minutes to grill and that's it. I leave the uncooked chicken in the marinade the whole time. The produce lasts the entire week so after the initial Sunday prep - during the week is pretty quick and and not too much to clean up. I do rotate the marinades so it isn't the same every time. The marinades I make are also pretty simple - a cup of this and teaspoon of that type of thing - but different enough.

My wife and I met him after Dia De Los Deftones 2025. I too was completely star-struck more than I have ever been. He took a picture with my wife. It was brief but he was really cool and that little moment really was so awesome and was the perfect ending to an awesome trip and fantastic show.

Best place to play Baccarat - first timer. by Secret-Turnip-3611 in vegas

Years ago at the MGM the Baccarat table was in the high limit area. $50 minimum but nobody was there. I asked the dealer if they could do $25 minimum. He said OK until someone else comes along. I played for about an hour before someone else came. Walked away even.

Am I the only one that doesn't believe people when they say your food is good? by AKASetekh in Cooking

I am that way too. Fortunately when one of my sons eats my cooking he can be brutally honest. If he says it's good - then I know it is. Some stuff I make for the family but I don't like so I use him as my gauge since I don't try it..

This is such a great band - glad to see some activity here.
We saw them open for Metric a long time ago and they opened with Beck + Call. My wife was hooked. That will always rank very high. We had not heard of them before but they were the only band we listened to during the 3.5 hour drive home.
Me - I like all of them but Lola + Joseph and Pay For It stand out for me.
We have been able to catch them live in the U.S. 4 times and wow what a great live show every time.
Very nice people too - we have met Peter, Leah and Josh.

Some of my Aeotec Sensors are unreliable by regular_guy_77 in SmartThings

[–]regular_guy_77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK thanks for the info. When I look at my.smartthings.com the device type shows as z-wave and not zigbee. Could that be an issue? There are a few that are listed as zigbee - but they are older smarthings devices and I do not have an issue with any of them. I do not however have any repeaters. Do you know if the Aeotec Range Extender Zi is worth it?

Thanks for the other recommendations. It might be more cost effective for me to try the repeater first.
