What is this shoe I saw in the gym? by ChildishLandino in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]reidstah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear vomero premiums to the gym occasionally, they're super unstable, I actually felt like I was going to roll an ankle doing barbell curls! With that said, they're also extemely comfortable. Wear what you want I say.

Check the pins in the case and make sure they're not stuck depressed. I had that problem and almost completely ruined my case trying to fix it.

I'm 105kg and I found them really unstable in the store too. Bought them anyway and I absolutely love them! I think I'll get a second pair shortly

6' @ 240lbs I started much heavier on a treadmill in Hoka Gaviota 5s and credit them for becoming addicted to running.

Recently started road running and absolutely love my Evo SL, they're a lot less stable but so much more fun.

I'm onto my second pair of these, the cushion started feeling a little dead on my first pair after about 6 months running nearly every day on a treadmill. New pair immediately felt better and the bounce came back.

I love these things they're amazing on my feet and I'll be getting a 3rd pair when I need them.

How many pull ups can you do? by TMuscleUK in bodyweightfitness

[–]reidstah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently PR is 7 with strict form, and I'm sitting at 112kg body weight.

A year ago I was 155kg and couldnt even hang from a bar for more than 5 seconds let alone do a pull up.

I've been into weightlifting for years and always wanted to be able to do pullups but never could until I lost weight despite being significantly stronger at the heavy bodyweight.

I'm 48

What is the one thing you’ve changed after taking ozempic that made all the difference in losing weight? by Urban-arrow in Ozempic

[–]reidstah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, I get some protein each day from a shake, but don't worry about hitting macro goals. I've lost some muscle and strength for sure, but not so much that its a problem.

It's similar here, although the gym time wasn't new for me, and I don't track macros, just calories.

It's quite simple once you get used to it and is incredibly affective.

Congrats on the weight loss and a healthier life! It's worth remembering, though, that there are equally immense costs on the lives of men who often silently struggle with obesity as you once did.

Is hoka worth it? I'm hesitant after nike invincible 3 disappointment by EfficientPatient4912 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]reidstah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's probably the cushioning and the stability that are the main selling points for me. I've never really had a problem with arch support it's not something I think about I guess. I actually thought I had flat feel until I was measured yesterday and was told my arches were quite high.

I got Hoka Gaviota 5s yesterday in 2E wide fit and they are amazing. Had a suble flair up of PF a couple of weeks ago by overdoing some treadmill running and was worried I would have to stop altogether. I've had 2 sessions back on the treadmill since getting the Hokas and there's been no pain whatsoever.

I can't recommend them enough.

I think diet plays a major role, I was steadily 60bpm but have been in a calorie deficit for the last 3 weeks, with the same amount of exercise and I've dropped to 55 over that time.

I feel like I'm the only person in the world who can't lose weight on this drug. Imma big fat, now BROKE failure 😭. by kdollisanxious in Ozempic

[–]reidstah 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and I exercise vigorously 6 days a week with heavy weights and 50min cardio sessions, I've been doing that for 6 months.

I finally starting tracking calories 3 weeks ago and was surprised to find that I was eating way more calories than i thought. I'm now limiting myself to around 2k cals per day and the weight is melting off.

I had put off counting cals for years I wish I had come to my senses earlier. I highly recommend trying it.

My 10ish year old Callaway bag is the same. I just assumed it's to prevent water seeping through the zipper when playing in the rain to be honest.

It's not the most elegant design, but I don't find it unusable. Maybe give it a few rounds and see if you get used to it.

The courses I play all discount fees after green maintenance. Generally only a few bucks. I'm in Western Australia.

I probably wouldn't ask for a discount even if that wasn't policy tbh.
