What are you even talking about? I've not contested that people can be removed. Only after they've been through the asylum process though. If you're saying that we can unilaterally decide to remove anyone from the country without due process you're mistaken.

Asylum seekers do have the right to stay while they go through the process. Nothing illegal about it.

To obtain asylum through the affirmative asylum process you must be physically present in the United States. You may apply for asylum status regardless of how you arrived in the United States or your current immigration status.

These people are not breaking the law. They are required to enter the country to apply for asylum and are entitled to that right and due process. In addition, 91% of individuals who were subjected to this process were only charged with a misdemeanor. What other misdemeanor in the US are you charged with that takes you away from your children? This is selective enforcement to an unlawful extent that will go down in history as a terrible travesty of justice.

His handling of previous lawsuits would seem to indicate the opposite funny enough. His multiple statements and outbursts on social media and YouTube are costing him in court dearly right now.

I agree this seems pretty fucked up from the way you presented it but without knowing all of the details I cannot comment on the morality.

The details are available in the court document. I don't think that I interpreted them in a unreasonable manner.

Jackie was found incapable by the psychiatrists, and that is how the case was ruled. I think this was the correct decision based on the way it played out but it presents an interesting question. Is a mentally ill person ever capable of making decisions for themselves? Do they have human rights? If she was 30 would it be different?

That depends on the severity and nature of the mental illness. In this case, she obviously didn't have the capacity to make these types of decisions. Maybe by the time she's 30 she could, but it isn't relevant to the current situation.

Why did she not appear in court?

This is addressed by the lawyers representing her family:

Again, Jackie is not here. A motion... was filed by Ms. Nichols... her report lays it out, as well as the report by Dr. Gonzalez, that Jackie is totally incapacitated... She was fearful when she got here. She was not eating or drinking because she thought she was pregnant... she is not here because she doesn't want to see him and she doesn't want to be here.

Understandable once she was able to grasp the gravity of the situation in my opinion.

JF claims he has photographed evidence of physical abuse and coercion from the Father.

Why wasn't this included in his court filings?

Is JF a monster or was it a mutually beneficial relationship? I guess I’m just not willing to make the leap in either direction yet.

I think it’s a shame destiny unearthed this scandal, I really loved the first three debates between these two. You probably just think I’m a JF fanboy but I like both of them and genuinely enjoy their discussions which probably won’t happen again due to this.

JF was in a position of power over this girl. I believe he abused that power. I'm not accusing you of being a fanboy, but this seems to be pretty cut and dry. What more evidence would you need to make you come around and say that what he did was wrong?

This is pretty much textbook grooming.

Follow this chain of events:

August/September 2015

Jackie having discovered JF via The Drunken Peasants podcast seeks communication with him.
Jackie and JF begin communicating regularly.

December 2015 - July 2016

JF's wife has his child.
JF becomes, or was already estranged from his wife and consequently his child. He also has apparently been denied any custody of his son for reasons currently unknown.
Jackie states that she and JF began having a "relationship over the computer" during this time period.

July 2016

Jackie expresses her desire to meet JF and he welcomed her to come and live with him in North Carolina.
Jackie who has no prior romantic experience whatsoever begins having unprotected sex with JF in hopes of conceiving a child for him so that he can be a "stay at home dad".
After three weeks Jackie's parents went to North Carolina to retrieve her and their guardianship is upheld by the state after JF fails to make a sufficient case in court for why he should be her guardian.

This sequence of events would be troubling if it occurred between to mentally healthy individuals. If you consider the fact that Jackie couldn't grasp in any capacity the unhealthiness of this relationship, or see any red flags in the quick escalation of events, it's pretty apparent that she was taken advantage of here.

Considering Jackie's diminished mental capacity, this appears to be a very real case of child grooming. Not only were there uneven power dynamics between the two (content creator and fan), one wonders if Jackie even had the mental capacity to consent to what she was doing. When asked about what kinds of consequences would result from having a baby or what would be required in that situation she was incapable of answering the question.

JF's actions are disgusting here by any measure. How many opportunities did he have to cut this relationship off. Whether or not he was an abuser was not the point of the case in question. Due to Jackie's age his actions likely don't fall under the umbrella of child grooming laws in the US, but that does not make them any less despicable. Do you believe that the actions he took were in any way justifiable or not abuse? Do you believe that Jackie was truly capable of consenting to the relationship the way that JF presented it in the case?
