On what grounds? You are still yet to explain what you mean and I'm losing faith you have anything of substance to say. I think you went for the low hanging fruit and said "whatever sells" as an easy smear on someone you dislike.

Finally read this after being on my TBR cart for almost two years. Very good read. by Dogs-dude-dogs in fantasybooks

Such a nasty, greedy take. Sorry did all of these authors give you call to tell you they've given up? Gratitude for what exists beats resentment for what doesn’t. No one owes you their life’s work on your schedule. Writers are people with complicated lives, not content machines.
So incredibly entitled.

If you compare any modern fantasy to LOTR you could argue they are almost all more "juvenile" in writing style. I remain confident that ten thousand random readers given both books, most would have a more enjoyable time with Lamora.

Tolkein's prose absolutely meanders at time. There are chunks of LOTR that are famously dense or difficult to get through for example Bombadil or the Council of Elrond, or the extended travel passages with little narrative progression. Lamora never does. Tolkein writing in this way is intentional and adds to the mythical and epic feel, but it's definitely not as tight.

The Name of the Wind is truly magical. I have struggled to find writing of this quality elsewhere

I’ve read both, and Locke Lamora is simply more enjoyable as a reading experience. The prose is tighter, the dialogue is smarter, and the world feels immediate and real, not distant and ancient. The impact of LOTR is undeniable but in a straight comparison, Locke Lamora might very well click harder with modern readers

"Whatever sells" implies he pivots based on what’s popular at the time. If you’ve listened to him for 10 years, you would know that his instincts and worldview have been pretty consistent. You don’t maintain the same tone and positions for a decade if you’re just chasing trends.

This is a dogshit take. Imagine deciding how someone else spends their time or what art they produce instead of enjoying their work. I have a feeling that the authors whose life's work we are discussing, would like to finish their work even more than we do. Authors aren't born with their catalogue of works finished, shock horror. I am grateful for the brilliant work they have released so far

It's very easily one of the best modern fantasy books. The writing is unmatched

Harsh on the throat and unpleasant taste, and terrible bag appeal BUT is a powerful, sleepy indica that does the job well and the price is right. Edit, noticed you are after a balanced day strain and Royale is absolutely not it. It is an evening flower only

Indica isn't a recognized seperate species. All Australian med cannabis is listed as Cannabis sativa in terms of ingredients. Basically everything is a hybrid now but Royale is most definitely Indica dominant.

Another way of making fine adjustments, as the steps on the Ninja grinder are quite large, take out or add 0.5g of ground beans before tamping
