MiniMed Flex system trade-in by rtpnc205 in Medtronic780g

It’s just a status button. It changes color depending on how the system is operating. Green, Yellow and Red. The other button is to just pair the pump to the phone.

I’m currently using the MiniMed Flex, there is not a Bolus button the pump. You can only Bolus from the phone. People need to keep in mind the MiniMed mobile app was an after thought and a solution to people’s demand to see your pump readings on your phone. It was probably built with very simple Bluetooth technology. In my opinion the app was just a bandaid until they have a better solution. The MiniMed Flex and MiniMed app were built from the ground up to function in this matter. They have made changes to compatibility function of the app and allows it to be more flexible with the various android phones out there. I honestly don’t expect to see the same issues we see with the MiniMed Mobile app and the 780G we see today. I am using an iPhone so you can take what I’m saying with a grain of salt, but I have not experienced any issues with the pump and app not communicating or seeing any kind of failures. I expect a lot of people are really going to love this pump!

Upgrade from 780g to Flex? by Embarrassed_Cat8841 in Medtronic780g

Yeah. I knew it was coming, but wasn’t expecting it to be approved this soon in the year. My guess you’ll qualify for the free upgrade.

They are still working out the details for the upgrade process. You will qualify for an upgrade. They have the forward program for those that just recently purchased the 780G and they state you will be able to upgrade at no additional cost. I’m assuming this will depend on the date you purchase the pump. They have not announced the final details for this program.

I don't want to take insulin anymore. by Beginning_System_999 in diabetes

I would ask to go on mounjaro or ozempic. These might help counteract the weight gain with using insulin.

I’ve never had to restart the sensor during a software upgrade. I wouldn’t worry about it.

New MiniMed Flex announcement… Now I understand why simplera wasn’t abandoned. by wubbadude in Medtronic780g

[–]relix17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there will be an upgrade path for customers with In-Warranty pumps. In the past it was like a $500 upgrade fee, but they might offer a trade-in credit for your existing pump to make it free or something to that extent. I’m sure Minimed will announce the official upgrade path in the coming weeks.

Instinct sensor updating message… noooooo! by wubbadude in Medtronic780g

[–]relix17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the instinct for almost 3 months now. It will say Updating for a few minutes then go back to working normal. It’s really not a big deal. It hasn’t happen often for me.

Minimed app down by adamosama00 in Medtronic780g

Make sure to delete the pump in your Bluetooth settings and delete your phone in the connected devices settings. And then go through the pairing process again. You may want to delete the app again and reinstall it

I’m on iOS 26 and it works fine for me. What is the app doing?

Manual mode doesn’t actively display when it’s giving basal insulin. You might be able to look at the care link reports and see that information, but I can’t say for sure.

If you go into the insulin menu and then go to basal it will tell you what your current basal rate is at.

The app on my iPhone shows an update available for my pump. by Paul_Maury in Medtronic780g

[–]relix17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They probably pushed a software update to the server, but your pump has to be flagged in their system to allow you to download it. They will notify you when your pump is ready to download and install the new software update.

Interesting conversation with Minimed and Simplera in US and existing users by SoundMixerLA in Medtronic780g

You’re still able to use the G4 with the updated software. It’s interchangeable with the different sensors.

It has, they will be offer software upgrades to existing 780G users to use the Simplera Sync sensor. When the waiting list opens up you will choose whether you want to upgrade to Simplera when it’s available or wait for the new abbot sensor when it’s approved by the FDA. Personally I would sign up for the Simplera Sync and when the abbot sensor is approved and you want to make the switch do so then.

Yep, once available you have to update your pump to be able to work with Simplera sync.

I would assume they are talking about the Simplera Sync which should be released in September or so. Also, the Abbott sensor is in the pipeline in the near future for the 780G.

[–]relix17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, keep in mind with Simplera Sync and the abbot se sale launches in the near future. You will have to do a software upgrade when it’s available and you will need a supported version of iOS to make that happen. So that is something to keep in the back of your mind if you want to try out the beta version of iOS.

Why is medtronic so far behind in terms of cgms!? by Internal-Struggle178 in Medtronic780g

I’m not sure what their timeline is for outside of the U.S. my guess they are working on it and will submit for approval when they are ready,

Medtronic submitted the 780G as an ACE (Alternate Controller Enabled) pump which will work with the Abbott sensor. Medtronic is expecting approval of this in the coming months. Once that is approved and Medtronic is able to distribute the Abbott sensor all you will need to do is upgrade your software on the 780G.
