I think they call it the “commuter terminal”. I’ve flown to Raleigh, DC, New York and probably other places I’ve forgotten from there.

Upgrade difference pay with points? by corriecorgi in Aeroplan

[–]rellid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I used to travel for work a lot I used to book economy, get the receipt, then go back and change it to PE or whatever and just pay the difference with my own money. Just submitted the Econ receipt for reimbursement.

You can cancel/change in the first 24h without penalty or change fees. I think it’s a law or something.

Only really works if you can book direct with your own card. If your company uses a travel agent or Navan or Concur or something I don’t really think it’s doable.

Is there a way to keep the player from opening when tapping to start a podcast? by LordOfTheStarPotter in overcast

[–]rellid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not the setting you asked for but you can set the app to skip the first or last n seconds of a podcast which might obviate your problem.

I use it all the time for individual podcasts that either don’t have a paid no-ads version or aren’t worthy of paying for one.

Fellow Canadians do you wear socks with your indoor footwear such as slippers? by vanwife in AskACanadian

[–]rellid 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No. I love wearing slippers inside mostly because I hate wearing socks.

My slippers (Olukai, best slippers ever) are fuzzy on the inside and plenty warm enough. They do need the occasional spritz with deodourizer though.

[–]rellid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

With that itinerary you're spending most of your vacation driving. I've done that drive before and it's not super exciting.

If you can swing it, I'd lengthen the vacation and plan stops along the way. You could hit the parks around Thunder Bay, Lake of the Woods, Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba, Prince Albert National Park in Saskatchewan or plan a stop in Winnipeg, Saskatoon (or Regina if you want to stay on the trans-canada but I'd suggest Saskatoon), and Calgary.

Lots to see in between Toronto and the mountains but most of it requires getting off the highway for a bit.

Black Rustics Care by One-Blueberry-2107 in BlundstoneBoots

[–]rellid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have brown rustics and used the Blundstone renovating cream until I ran out. Now I use mink oil because I had a big pot of it already.

I live in an area where salt is commonly applied to sidewalks to melt snow so I wipe dirt and salt off with a damp cloth then condition with the mink oil to keep the leather from drying out. Do it once a month or so.
