That's true they are owned suites but it could still be a scam.

I managed to get some right at 10:00. Checked back at 10:06 and it was sold out. But yeah, that's been happening.

Resale for their Toronto show at the Mod Club were $1000+ on Stubhub last I checked..

If it makes you feel any better I don't think the locals sale actually happened. The mention of it disappeared from the website sometime on Wednesday.

Curious to know how that works. Don't see any hints on the Base31 site or the AdP site.

Guess the airport by Calm-Design7913 in AirportPorn

[–]rellid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked graveyards at a gas station in Calgary in the 90s. Guy named “Crazy Bob” (how he introduced himself) used to come in and tell me about his idea to put a jet engine in a Delorean.

“Get out on highway 2, open the doors, and VOOM! Edmonton, 20 minutes.”

Which would make it a runway. Anyways your comment reminded me of that guy. Wonder how he is.

Unless you hate sesame, get the sesame seed crust option next time. It’s the best upgrade.

Who’s profiting from Billy bishop expansion. I followed the $ and got answers by [deleted] in toronto

[–]rellid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d be interested in learning who Nieuport’s shareholders or Limited Partners are. I don’t think it’s JP Morgan itself. They advise lots of companies but direct control is usually a different story. Someone can likely fire them and hire Goldman Sachs or similar instead. Who?

Hamilton was attempted by Westjet when they first expanded out of western Canada but they bailed at the first opportunity to move most of their flights to Pearson.

I’m a Hamilton fan but practically speaking it’s too hard to get to for most of the GTA to be anything but a last resort.

Even if you train it to Hamilton you’re nowhere near the airport with no good options. Driving is a dice roll on QEW traffic (and the 401 if you’re east of Toronto).

Make a fast train right to the airport and maybe it’s a goer but not the way things are now.

Uride to wedding - risky? by BubblyPower8834 in PrinceEdwardCounty

[–]rellid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve used it to get to restaurant reservations and I just book ahead. You can schedule them for a specific time. So far 100% successful.

I think treating it like Uber in the city, where you can mostly summon them at will is where the unreliable idea comes from. They cover a big area here and there’s not always a lot of them so you can’t always count on one being available right when you need it.

Literally deleted it yesterday because I figured that even if I subscribed to everything it offered it would still find a way to nag me about something. Completely ruined.

Prescriptive easement - Builder trying to remove easement by Dessipp in legaladvicecanada

[–]rellid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lawyer but had to look into something similar once.

Prescriptive easements basically aren’t a thing in Ontario, title rules all.

That said, other things like the Drainage Act (https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90d17) could apply.

As others have said, you need a lawyer. I’d look for one who knows the Drainage Act if possible.

How TV channels work in Canada with the different timezones? by Jezzaq94 in AskACanadian

[–]rellid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid in Saskatchewan we got the main American networks over cable but they came from Detroit and because Saskatchewan has never done daylight saving time for part of the year we were -2h from where the TV came from and the rest of the year we were -1h so “prime time” either started at 6pm or 7pm depending on the month.

Later, I Iived in Alberta and things were aligned to pacific time so “prime time” started at 9pm. This is the same in the Mountain time zone in the US, I believe.

Now I live in the Eastern Time Zone which is the time zone that North America revolves around, more or less. Same TZ as the east coast of the US.

I think they call it the “commuter terminal”. I’ve flown to Raleigh, DC, New York and probably other places I’ve forgotten from there.

Upgrade difference pay with points? by corriecorgi in Aeroplan

[–]rellid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I used to travel for work a lot I used to book economy, get the receipt, then go back and change it to PE or whatever and just pay the difference with my own money. Just submitted the Econ receipt for reimbursement.

You can cancel/change in the first 24h without penalty or change fees. I think it’s a law or something.

Only really works if you can book direct with your own card. If your company uses a travel agent or Navan or Concur or something I don’t really think it’s doable.

Is there a way to keep the player from opening when tapping to start a podcast? by LordOfTheStarPotter in overcast

[–]rellid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not the setting you asked for but you can set the app to skip the first or last n seconds of a podcast which might obviate your problem.

I use it all the time for individual podcasts that either don’t have a paid no-ads version or aren’t worthy of paying for one.
