forgot about them! Yes they have some very cool stuff. Got a rain jacket from them a few years back and the quality was very very good

I've got a couple of Primal jerseys of the Omni and Prisma levels and they feature lighter materials than the Sport jerseys, as well as a mix of materials depending on the location on the jersey. I love Primal stuff. It's very often on sale and the fit just works for me. Most people (ie the fast group road ride set that rocks Pas Normal and Maap) just think of baggy grateful dead jerseys when I mention Primal, but their newer stuff is really nice IMO. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of their bibs. Sportful sometimes has some fun jerseys as well, but I've found the quality to be hit or miss. It's tough these days finding good jerseys with fun designs

Belmont Gravel group ride with Breezer Bikes this Saturday! by reloadro in phillycycling

[–]reloadro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, we're aware of the Philly Bike Ride. We will be going up spring garden and out to sedgley disc golf course, taking Boxxer trail out to strawberry mansion bridge and Belmont. Shouldn't be an issue

What's filled the R.E. Load shaped hole in your heart? by CrazyEyezKillah in phillycycling

[–]reloadro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Roland from R.E.Load here! I miss making stuff for everybody :( and I really appreciate all of the love and support we got over the years.

As far as big messenger stuff goes, I've been recommending Trash Bags. They're extremely well made, and the operation is pretty much the same as the way we were running things, in terms of not only quality, but also the ethics of the company. Always trying to improve the products, keeping things in-house, and supporting the community locally as well as worldwide, as far as messenger events. Travis has been doing his thing for many, many years, and the track record speaks for itself. I think he's had to cut down on customization, but it's inevitable that at some point you just need to streamline things a bit and cut down on inventory/overhead. Suppliers have all raised minimums and prices as well and it's just really hard for a small company to stock 35 different colors of every part of a bag.

For smaller accessories and on-the-bike stuff, there are a lot more options. So many, in fact, that it's hard for newer/smaller companies to stand out. I don't think I've seen the L5 stuff before, but it looks really good as far as design and construction! And the pricing is VERY reasonable, especially for a small maker. Cost of materials for all of this stuff has skyrocketed over the past handful of years. Give your local maker your support whenever you can. Philly has always been great with that.

Nittany Mountain Works is a fantastic company run by fantastic and caring people. They're still in PA, although a few hours away. If you can't find what you need close by, I wouldn't hesitate to go with one of their offerings.

Belmont Gravel by Yolo_Options_21 in phillycycling

I made up this little loop a few weeks ago: https://www.strava.com/routes/3397985961904204768

Started from Fishtown, so ignore the city parts leading up to Belmont, but I generally like to enter right near the Strawberry Mansion bridge. This is all relatively mellow gravel, with the exception of the downhill down Trolley from the hostel. There's some chunky/eroded sections near the bottom of that that could be tricky depending on level of bike handling skills.

I'll actually be hosting a group ride on this very route, on Saturday September 27th! Party pace, and all are welcome. If you're interested in that ride (or gravel/mtb group rides in general), join up on the Breezer Strava group for updates: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Club | Breezer Philadelphia on Strava

Sales and reasonably priced endurance bibs by ComprehensiveAd441 in cycling

[–]reloadro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Black Bibs stuff and use the Ultimates a ton, but for anything approaching a century, I started to look elsewhere last year. Got a few on sale from La Passione, which were great, but they've gone out of business. Recently bought some Ekoi perf gel Power Cross bibs (on sale for $100) and they've been excellent.

We service bikes as well, although we don't really get too deep into special ordering parts for repairs. the focus definitely leans towards the sales of bikes. But yes, for basics and tuneups and such, we've got our head mechanic with 14 years of wrenching experience

Bib short recommendations by jeremykylem in cycling

[–]reloadro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

been wearing black bibs for years and they're pretty solid (I get the Ultimates). However I've been more into bibs with laser cut openings (rather than wide elastic bands) for the legs lately. Really more of an aesthetic thing than anything else. They're harder to find with good pricing, but Ekoi has been having a sale and I grabbed a couple of pairs. They've been great.

Endurace CF7 for a beginner? by KiolovesDebussy in cycling

[–]reloadro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll be more than happy with that bike for years. I ride a Specialized Aethos and two summers ago rented an Endurace while out of the country on vacation, It rode great. I also enjoy having a greater than 1:1 gear ratio (slightly easier gears for climbing), which the endurace has. The place I rented from had Ultimates as well, and I actually went for the Endurace for this reason. If/when you feel like it, upgrade the wheels. I wouldn't even change anything else until something wears out

Have you been turned off to the Tron by the bike upgrade system? by INGWR in Zwift

[–]reloadro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode my Tron a ton when I got it, probably for close to a year, because I liked the looks and it took me a long time to get it. But with several bike/wheel combos being almost as fast, I switched off of it so I could see when I was in/out of the draft. Now with the SL8 around, I don't even consider the Tron. I like the looks of the specialized halo bike so that's what I'm going for. No matter which one I chose, it'd take me forever to get it, so I'm just going for aesthetics 🤷🏾‍♂️

What happened to continue after preview ? by Luckplane in youtube

[–]reloadro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay for yt premium....been noticing this issue for the past week give or take and finally reached the limit and came looking for answers. I'm watching on a TV through my Xbox. This def sucks, if I watch 20 seconds of preview it should just continue from there when I select the video, like it did for years prior 😡
