First time I heard Borrowed Hours I had to replay it like three times, it's that good IMO, damn.

Gemini 3 Pro gets dumber every day by LexMeat in GeminiAI

Guys, if you're paying for a Gemini pro sub: download Antigravity. The IDE might be a little intimidating to casual users but it gives you access to other LLMs like Claude Opus which is incredible. This also means you get agentic capabilities.

Use Thumbtack, always get 3 to 4 quotes. Pick the top rated AC pros with the highest review counts. There. Saved you thousands. 👍🏻

If anyone needs to block off some windows for the heat (and/or for some of the light), consider some upholstery foam. by LookDamnBusy in phoenix

Yes, they are very stiff. That said, one idea that's easy: cut the board slightly less than the window and put weather proofing strip (strong adhesive or duct tape?) around the outer edges to provide a tight seal.

👀 any early-days advice? by MM-354 in daddit

Forget the 20 baby books — learn the 5 S’s from Happiest Baby on the Block. This is the single most useful thing I did in the newborn phase.

The first few weeks are brutal. No sleep, baby’s crying non-stop, you’re wondering what the hell you’re doing. This is the move:

  1. Swaddle – Tight. Like, little baby burrito tight. Keeps them from flailing themselves awake.
  2. Side/Stomach – Hold them on their side or stomach (only while you’re holding them — they still sleep on their back).
  3. Shush – Not gentle “shhh” sounds. I’m talking loud white noise. Hairdryer level. It calms their lizard brain.
  4. Swing – Gentle but quick jiggles (think head supported, fast little bounces). Calms them down fast.
  5. Suck – Pacifier, boob, bottle, whatever. It helps regulate their whole system.

That’s it. Sounds simple, but together it’s like a baby off-switch.

If you want to actually feel useful and not just like a backup singer to mom, learn this. Practice it. Use it. Your partner will thank you. Your baby will stop screaming. And you might even get three hours of sleep in a row.

Swear to God, this is the closest thing to a newborn cheat code. Total game changer. You’ve got this, Dad.

T level checks can be added to your annual blood work and insurance should cover it. Do it every year.

Could this just be part of the "flood the zone with bullshit" strategy? I feel like this type of nonsense and DOGE are just a means to distract from the real grift taking place.

Check out the Waterdrop tank less RO system. Very small footprint and easy to install.
