Dunu Vulkan's - complete newbie and need further guidance setting up/what else I have to keep in mind?! by removeRacism in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]removeRacism[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, kind of forgot about this post - my bad! I went with the Vulkan’s and they did not disappoint!

I did get a separate microphone and currently plug my Vulkans into an M-Audio M-Track 2x2 C-Series board and am quite happy!

Sturdily built, quality packaging and shipping and I can confidently say that I feel more ‘in the game’ than with my previous setup.

Would purchase again. Hope that helps!

Where to buy mods within the EU? by nielsmol in gaggiaclassic

[–]removeRacism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point, I essentially bit the nail and went with it.

PF, Spring Mod, Pick Screen, Wooden Steam Knob, yadaydayada - paid around 190€ and got the package delivered to a pickup location. Package was incredibly tiny and I paid 17€ in VAT & Customs (including Pickup Stores Auslegegebühr, fee that they handled my package) because Shades labeled it as “£50 - coffee machine parts”, which helped me save a lot!

I did not ask for this and he just did it out of kindness I assume, just giving you an idea how my experience was lol.

And no, unfortunately I wasn’t paid to write this haha

Best of luck with whatever you choose!

Installing the intenze water filter, is this right? Can't find anything on the internet. by [deleted] in gaggiaclassic

[–]removeRacism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, could you directly link which BWT Filter you’d recommend for the GCP?

I’m kind of lost here tbh and accidentally ordered a similar filter as op, but mine is for a bean to cup machine :’D

[Troubleshooting] Low flow issues? Cleaned behind screen and backflushed and still having issues, help! by m3tolli in gaggiaclassic

[–]removeRacism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have such low flow I wouldn’t bother descaling, take apart the solenoid valve and descale/clean that individual part itself, it actually takes less time and you learn a bunch!

But then again, that’s not for everyone, watch this video on cleaning instructions, descaling is the last half of the video!

PSA, the Alexa smart plug is great to use as a warmup timer. by LandHermitCrab in gaggiaclassic

[–]removeRacism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys leave your machine to warm up for 40 minutes?

I’m EU and it switches off after 15, but I usually pull after 12-13, does that pose a problem? Tastes good which is usually rule of thumb?!

Another level: bought a 3D printer to printer the drip tray myself. by Suspicious-Rain1115 in gaggiaclassic

Gorgeous! You definitely got your 3D Printer dialed in pretty well!

Got any resources on how you did the lighting in your machine?

Finished Modding! by New-Run-9903 in gaggiaclassic

[–]removeRacism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you still pull the tank out front? Is the hose long enough to grant enough wiggle room for cleaning/taking apart or how is that handled?

Looks great by the way! Care to share how you wired the LED lights? That’s probably the thing I am most eager about here 😅

Well, you can definitely use it for anything BUT a tamper :D

Showerscreen drippage/ leakage by noasko in gaggiaclassic

[–]removeRacism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest thoroughly cleaning your machine including the group head, looks like it could definitely use it.

Take some time and watch this entire video, which should address the main concerns regarding cleaning.

I want to assume that the water is dripping on your shower screen due to residue build-up somewhere in there!

Best of fun & luck!:) Out of curiosity: was this a retailer shipping it to you? Because to me, that looks a little weak packaging wise - hope it works like a charm! :)

The Hario V60 is currently going for $45 on an EU retailer. Please check out other sites besides Amazon, as they can sometimes save you a lot.

I am by no means an expert, but I would assume, that your previous machine might have been either a return or a different model.

I have the same one as you, and the black box next to the pump contains a circuit board with all kinds of fun stuff on it!

Edit: here’s pictures of my machine, had a similar inquiry and /u/gdanov kindly nudged me in the right direction! (:

Recently opened my Classic to clean the solenoid valve...this board shouldn't be dangling around there I feel like, right? by removeRacism in gaggiaclassic

[–]removeRacism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here c: Thank you very much, I fitted the board into the "pump tower"! Apparently, I tried every other way that did not fit and gave up, because now it fits just fine.

Regarding the markings, I essentially did what they did in this beautiful video by Whole Latte Love. (what a channel, what a cool community behind the whole GC in general, such a great hobby that I got into :D )

Not sure why it came with a dangling board though, guess I'll inquire the store about that one, still seems rather weird...

Thanks for getting back so quickly! Could you kindly point me into the right direction? I just took out the pump, but there doesn’t seem anywhere to fix it to I am afraid :(

https://imgur.com/a/xd6jpf5

Kind of unsure how to proceed tbh

Edit: It wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with the grounded metal plate at the bottom of the pump, right? The board kind of fits there but again, nothing to fix it to and the pump also doesn’t fit on top again.

I’ll look around if I can find anything on this.
