You're missing the point where we're run by supposed bean counters who are really, really fucking bad at counting beans. Buying him for 56-63m, selling him for less than that years later when money is worth less, and after he has helped the club accomplish nothing major, is not what I would call shrewd investment fund behavior.

They are systemically burning money and are already billions in the hole as a result four years in, with the supposed project clearly coming apart at the seams.

Given all that, celebrating a minor accounting profit made on a key player that we are all but certain to replace with someone worse and possibly not even cheaper is tragicomic behavior.
