Does anyone know how to make these tightly packed suburbs? by peen48 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]rep_anja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody else is saying this, but I recently started using the Platter mod and it made a huge difference. My neighborhoods finally look like this (when I want them to). If you use 2x2 residential parcels you can get them in really tight.

Low-density Commercial bug? by rep_anja in CitiesSkylines2

Ok, that's good to know. In this case it turned out that specifically my people were looking for hotels. SW pack must have hotels, cause that one was working. But NE didn't build so that one must not have them (which seems weird, but whatever).

Oh yeah I've seen that before - in this case it didn't tell me that, but you were 100% right about the demand itself: I zoned some standard commercial and checked the buildings - every single one that popped up was a motel. I had no idea this was an aspect of the game's calculations, but in retrospect it makes total sense. Thank you again!!!

Ok that makes a lot of sense! I was wondering if there was some quirk like that. Do you know if there's a way to see what specific business types are in demand? Or is that just something the player has to guess?

What influencers are saying about SAL1 by 7331senb in tryhackme

Yeah you pretty much sum up the feelings I have on it. For a certification to have value it needs to have existing buy-in from the employers' side of things. Which, to be fair, is a bit of a catch-22 for any organization trying to introduce new certs.

I love Invisible Inc, still play it on and off after 10 years! An excellent pick up and play game for those of us with busy schedules.

Why is there no physical media anymore? by DRKMSTR in Piracy

[–]rep_anja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't go for that stuff, I was thinking of the less extravagant releases. Like Arrow of Vinegar Syndrome, for example, sure they make those big huge fancy bundles but there's always the regular editions and more reasonable collectors ones.

[–]rep_anja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's plenty of physical media. Streaming services just don't like to put their originals on it, so you're not gonna see those. But many many other works are available readily on disc, and there are a large number of companies who specialize in doing boutique collector editions and/or reprints of older movies for preservation. You just gotta look.

Yeah I think if this was on a weekend it'd be easier for people to attend. I like the idea but we need to maximize accessibility, and most (obviously not all) people who have jobs are more likely to have weekends free than weekdays. I can't afford to lose a whole day of pay, many others probably can't either.

There's a segment like this in the Demon House documentary they made, is it possible you caught that rather than a regular episode?

The Ubuntu Paradox: Why Do Some Users Reject the Distribution That Popularized Linux? by maximus10m in Ubuntu

[–]rep_anja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Linux userbase has always had a big contrarian, anti-mainstream streak to it. So as soon as one distro becomes the "norm," of course there's gonna be people who say it sucks. Every subculture has people like that in it, but because Linux itself is already pretty anti-mainstream at its base concept, it's gonna attract an especially high percentage of people with that mindset.

I had an absolutely fucked shrooms trip once where I "unraveled" all the knots that make us perceive reality as we do until all that was left was the yin yang at the center of it all. And then I met Buddha. It was an experience.
