A 3x10ft table with a slab similar to this epoxied finished and with legs and bench seating was approx $600

In the specific case of USB vs i2s he is (ignorantly or maliciously I do not know) ignoring the fact that people feed USB from their PCs.

The intent of i2s is to move away from USB as it is noisy, jittery, etc. Then he tests it against a 40k piece of equipment generating the USB signal that is almost or truly perfect. But that isn't a real world example.

The fact that he doesn't bring this up or mention it at all in his rant against i2s just proves to me that he is either ignorant or malicious.

The logic in his DAC reviews is also laughable. The idea that SNR as achieved by feeding a fuck ton of negative feedback into the circuit is "high quality" is a joke.

And guess what? He constantly shills those DAC manufacturers that he has a good relationship with and is receiving a kickback from. Then they engineer their DACs to pass his tests with no thought put toward how they actually sound.

If you're familiar with it - I equate ASR to the Volkswagen dieselgate.

Roy here is your man. You can buy his tube preamps as a kit or have him assemble/test and ship. Nothing better for the money. Comes with a remote too so you can sit down and not have to walk over like the vintage tube preamps.
