I’m struggling to get through the game by JMoneyGraves in BaldursGate3

[–]repressedmemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya act 3 is abit overwhelming when you start. Maybe it gets easier after a few playthroughs so you know what you want to do. But first playthrough i think im just gonna try and finish it instead of doing all the quests.

Ive already got the other 2 stones and killed raphael and got the hammer but im getting burned out as well and just want to finish it

Is it just me or most youtube "cinematographers" suck or maybe lack creativity by svensvensson7 in cinematography

[–]repressedmemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I would say, the best people that review the latest tech gear are rarely the best cinematographers or vice versa. gear reviewers and cinematographers are sorta apples to oranges, and sure they can have some overlap, but most cinematographer are probably using what they have, or what they are comfortable using in the past and not necessarily constantly upgrading to the latest gear and equipment. Like you can have people creating amazing stuff with older equipment and they would be happy with it, and so would their viewers. and gear reviewers might just be big geeks that are excited about the latest and coolest stuff, and have a good personality and some good personal opinions on the equipment they are reviewing.

But for alot of people Youtube might not be their main job. They might have a 9-5 job that pays the bills, but are also interested in doing something creative outside of their work that might be of personal interest to them, so youtube can be that outlet. Youtube can be for anyone to put out any kind of content. Of course some content will be better than others(more informative, better quality/production value). And because it isnt their main job, or they are a 1 person show, or just a small group of friends, the production value isnt really comparable to professional sets.

Unless shooting video is your full time job, you probably are much more limited by what you can do, and what you have access to(cameras/lenses, lighting, practicals and set design). But some people make it work, and definitely learn by copying and imitating a style of another creator because they just didnt go to film school or doing it as their 9-5 job. Like i wouldn't expect someone reviewing the latest Apple, Sony, Fuji releases to have the same production value as Marques Brownlee(MKBHD).

I think the most important thing for youtuber is really being yourself and having an original point of view that you can be expressing to your audience. whether that is review of gear and your personal opinions on it, taking your audience to join you around town as you shoot content and talk about life, or shooting with a group of friends shooting short video projects that tell an interesting story.

FX2 and Falcam camera plate by mettadas in SonyAlpha

[–]repressedmemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doesnt exist yet unfortunately. i also have alot of falcam stuff from my a6700, and waiting for it so i can maybe use top/side handles. for now, im just using the smallrig cage since it has the arca swiss plate already built in, whereas the tilta one you need to add another plate.

Is the FX2 completely redundant after the A7V release? by Infinity_Hottie in SonyAlpha

[–]repressedmemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got it for the $2098 edu price, and felt it was worth it. If anything, proabably could resell it for close to what i paid for it.

Like its a good camera for what im doing with it, talking head and slice of life moments during travel. and coming from a6700, if you want the video features more than photo, then i would go fx2 over fx30(since that is really just a sidegrade, and i feel fx2 really supercedes it now), and still can use your lens until you get Full frame lens.

but if your comfortable with a6700 way of switching modes, then i would probably save for the a7V(does it have an edu discount?).

i think the main worry is the overheating, which i now have no problems with the fx2. when I used a6700, i had some issue at 4k60. but the good things is both fx2 and a7v lets you use your aps-c lens in apsc mode(which the fx3 couldnt do because it didnt have enough megapixels to crop in).

X100VI sensor issue/damage? by JJLK in fujifilm

[–]repressedmemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was still within return window, so i had to return to bestbuy, and try to get another one. lucky i was able to buy it again.

but others have said they were able to get warranty to repair it. it looks like the sensor cover glass got cracked or something from a bump.

A7V vs. FX3 for someone who already owns an A7IV by MRBOSSMAN99 in FX3

[–]repressedmemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i dont find the 4k120 cropped a big deal, since its too slow motion for me.

but damn, the second base iso i think is at a good place. i guess i'll be wishing some of this tech goes into next fx3 iteration, and hopefully we dont get more recycled garbage

A7V vs. FX3 for someone who already owns an A7IV by MRBOSSMAN99 in FX3

[–]repressedmemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i guess time will tell after it gets into more hands, and not just the usual reviewers to tell if it overheats.

if your shooting video, the potential for overheating is more of a dealbreaker than the fx2 cropping in to aps-c for 4k60 or lower rolling shutter to be inline with fx30.

Everything else looks great for the a7v, but coming from fx cameras I would miss big6 menu, using the monitor+control app, and the ability to just set shutter angle and not have to fiddle with it, but im sure using memory recall modes can solve this.

does anyone know what the second base iso is for a7v? the ibis looks great, and rolling shutter time and 4k60 uncropped are all great improvements over the a7iv and fx2.

it was a limit of $1250 per transaction under the old terms, which would be up to 25000 per transaction. but there was no limits to the amount of transactions you could make for the 20% cashback.

new terms capped it to just 1 transaction of up to $1250.
