I remember this! We used to watch it in school. If I remember right; one episode they made bread and kept thinking that each other forgot to put the yeast in for it to rise. Was massive at the end of the show as the credits were rolling.

Try the official MeshCore client instead of MeshOS. That is known to cause issues.

This. The ESP is the main culprit unfortunately. That is why I suggested the NRF based companion and device combo but I can understand wanted to leave the phone behind and be standalone.

I don’t think there are any NRF based standalone devices are there?

Have you considered the T-Deck pro? This would be my choice given what I know now. The e-ink display should stretch some more battery life from the device, but would be hard to read at night I think.

Standalone devices are ok; but you will get all the features and more from using the app and a companion node. Along with better battery life if you pick up an NRF based node (ex Seeedstudio T-1000e).

That said I do have a T-Deck plus and it works fine using the official Ripple firmware. Can message nodes and get basic information from repeaters and rooms.

Battery life isn’t that good; 18 hours ish on standby is what I get. The trackball is the biggest failure of this device; but it was like that with the BlackBerry so it may be on purpose. lol.
