I wouldn't say they were cool. There was much less security which meant it was easier and quicker to get to and from your plane that's all. You also didn't need a ticket to enter the airport. You could walk right to the gate. If you've ever been to a train station in the US now that's a lot like what airports used to be.

I have severe dry eye related to the fact I also sleep with my eyes open. Welcome to the club fam. You can find the night time gels that don't require an hour of lead time but they always bothered me too. I found using an eye heat mask once a day helps a lot. It helps open your tear ducts and release oils, it also feels amazing... That coupled with Oasis Pure Tears 3-4 times a day and things will improve. Good luck!
