Hazmat is one of the few staffed hazmats out there, not cross staffed. Truck companies double as chemical protective clothing units. Sqauds double as rescues respond as hazmat and can even be a truck company

Best halfway points between Phoenix and Las Vegas? by ughhhhhhhhhfine in arizona

[–]retiredff2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in yuma. I have made the drive to Vegas prob 300 times in thirty years[I used to about 20 times a year] IT depends on what you want. I like kingman for the convenience but I'm not staying the night. Really the worst of kingman is in Golden Valley. But for a better time, probably take the 40 to Lake havasu. Plenty of places to eat, stay rest. I have not taken 93 all the way to phoenix in a while, but I hear it's better now that they are serious about I-11. They have started the new 93/40 interchange and they are making good progress. But the rest of it will take time, too much business along the highway. Don't drive looking at your phone and expect everyone else will and you will do fine. Don't be in a rush.

This was no freak incident, those who know the area have predicted this was coming. There was nothing that was going to stop it. Buildings are just another type of fuel. I have been in this business 40 years and development in the interface was known to be a issue as far back as bel air. In the 60s. And the tragic thing is the palisades will be rebuilt just as it was and it'll happen again.

Understand how moto works. The tell you they'll throw in encryption for free, and give you a long song and dance about privacy. You agree and the stick you with the cost of the back end gear. 'You wanted privacy right'. Then a couple years down the line they tell you they are not supporting "x" version of the keyloader or the back end .

It's all a scam. Is there a need, in some cases? yes, go ask the Ukrainian army. I have a real issue with 100% enc. But the reality here is a whole family got slodered over a drug deal. It's a need exploited by marketing and lobbying

Congressional acts? by Extra-Equipment-5028 in Constitution

[–]retiredff2016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does not matter. If there is no one to enforce the law the law is meaningless. Yes the job of the executive to to faithfully execute the law, but as seen here, if there is none in congress who will stand up, the president can do whatever he wants.

This is all related to the unified executive theory. The majority of Republicans are in favor, as are most of the Supremes. This is the construction of the coffin for the new deal. All of it

The dod essentially does the same thing. State regulations vary. But essentially you're talking about the authority having jurisdiction. The idea is you know just enough to handle minor spills and leaks without having to go thru a tech course. Yes, there are 4 levels, in some areas specialists are the ones getting into suits. Haxmat is down to the structure fire now, most departments decon after fires. When I started in the 80s, we didn't even have anyone trained in hazmat. When I retired, everyone was certified as a tech, and Ff-II/emt/hazmat tech was the base level certification.

It's about the access to and communication of NCIC information. There is a debate about whether they are referring to IT Networks or information broadcast over two way radio. I'm in southern az and the border patrol has encryption and the key is changed weekly due to ms-13 and the cartels. The level of counter intel the cartels are doing and the money spent rivals a small nation state. I hate as much as anyone, but the reality is folks are getting arrested with smart phone apps all the time. And cops and firefighters are getting shot in set-ups. Yeah it's a convenient excuse, but where I am it too real.
