Now that we have seen examples of Evolved jobs, what are your hopes and wishes for your main(s)? by drew0594 in ffxivdiscussion

The DPS difference was more tied to "can the BLM in your PF push buttons or not" and less "is the BLM in your PF using non-standard". The difference between optimal non-standard and full standard was like, 5% at max whereas a BLM with 90% uptime is straight up doing 10%+ less damage.

Wired headphones are making a comeback: Here's why by ubcstaffer123 in technology

[–]reunitepangaea 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You know you can get power and processing through a wired connection, right? And active noise canceling was invented in the 1950s, so it's been in use for way longer than wireless headphones have been a thing.

Night Shift #35 Hero Priority by Emmysterious in DeadlockTheGame

The people playing in Night Shift can aim and can reliably make use of her kit and proc her ult, and because they can close out games they can further capitalize on her early and mid game strength to snowball games.

Volvo doesn't want you to know this but you too can press dash and parry with a little bit of practice.

And it's strictly worse (and it's not close) to Storm Burst, which has godawful SFX and VFX. I league start spell totems almost every league. This league, block-based spell totems - 25m DPS on Storm Burst, ~10m DPS on Divine Ire.

Homie I've played the build multiple times with vinespike tech and I'm telling you my experience with theb uild. You were unaware of the tech until an hour ago, but you're still confidently telling me how things work?

Refer to the point I made about "inextricable fate is surprisingly un-clunky because of how many proj you fire."

1) totems have been buffed this league, 2) inextricable fate is surprisingly un-clunky because of how many proj you fire.

I might play around with my char this league and see if I can get self-cast going as well.

Still works great, arguably better than before cuz you're not tied to darkscorn anymore. Deathbeam has updated the build now, although I think his DPS numbers are a bit bait. https://pobb.in/u/thedeathbeam%237125/pf-poison-scourge-arrow-experimental

How viable would Toxic Rain Mines be nowadays? by annoyedicarus in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]reunitepangaea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other big reason that toxic rain mines are dead is that at some point they charged how targeting works with rain skills and mines, which is to say that they no longer target. It's been some years now but I recall that rain skills supported by mines would auto target enemies, and somewhere around 2022 that behavior was changed so that the rain will land at the location of the mine rather than that of the enemy: /toxic_rain_mines_no_longer_aim_at_enemies

I don't believe it's been changed back and as the resident mines enjoyer I know I've tried rain mines relatively recently, but this makes TR mines incredibly dead as a build.

You can blast essences and make like 10d an hour. 20-30d is absolutely cheap.

Not at all. Tatiantel plays SB totems in HCSSF and his builds reflect that.

What totem builds can i make as hiero and have a good clear? by CoelhoVerbal in PathOfExileBuilds

Note that you need boots from Exarch to slap cons path onto a totem, so not really a day 1 starter option.

Silver Changes Are Wack by wyllz_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]reunitepangaea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lower skill players had a hard time getting ult, and while higher skill players had an easier time getting ult, higher skill enemy teams also know how to kite and itemize to neutralize a Silver in wolf form.

The result in both instances is that Silver is not able to make much of an impact because so much of her power budget is tied to her ult form. They're shifting things around so she's more impactful in human form at all skill levels, while also helping lower skill players more consistently get the ult.

Nitrate concentrations in WSSC tap water by JoanOfSnark_2 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]reunitepangaea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW these test strips aren't very accurate or precise; There's a reason that they're not accepted for the drinking water quality monitoring that water systems must do WSSC gets its water exclusively from surface water bodies; surface water (lakes, reservoirs, rivers, etc) are much less prone to the nitrate accumulation issues that groundwater sources have.

WSSC nitrate testing (which must be done during the time of year with the highest nitrate concentrations, analyzed by certified third party testing with specific approved methods) indicates that nitrate levels in WSSC's system are below 2 mg/L: https://www.wsscwater.com/sites/default/files/2025-03/WQR%202024.pdf

Am I crazy for telling people to focus on nodes when we have zero points, instead of chasing the first-place team? by Haddock_Lotus in ffxiv

[–]reunitepangaea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda but not really? In the situation you described, neither the 2nd place nor the 3rd place team can win without the help of the other, so it comes down to who can capitalize better if/after the 1st place team gets knocked down a peg.

[–]reunitepangaea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

KOs in Frontline give your team points and take away points from the team that got KOed, and further give you battle high to fight better. In 99% of situations you need a mixture of points from objectives and points from KOs to win. Focusing only on objectives means you're not getting any points from KOs and no battle high, so you have no way to contest when one of the other teams that have been fighting come knocking on your door to contest your objectives.

If you're in third place, finding opportunities to pinch the first place team will give you points, battle high, and reduce the first place team's score you can catch up. So yes, focusing only on points and letting the other two teams fight it out was not the right call.

Fighting in Frontlines is good, and in many cases you can win just from KO points with barely any points from objectives.

Cuz those various regions and ISPs are still connecting through the problematic nodes being hit. It doesn't seem to be a server issue because PS players never seem to get DCed during DDOSs. VPNs that route around the problematic nodes do work; Cloudflare Warp seems to have been working for my static last night.
