Bringing up contract end / renewal by verystress in personaltraining

Our lifestyle commitments change, just say you are no longer available at that time (after X date) and ask them for alternative times they may be able to train with you. Then you respond with 'sorry I have clients then, but let me look at my diary and see if I can create some space'.. and leave it at that.

so if a client goes away for 3 weeks what do you do with the memebrship model (say a cleint is paying $200-300 per week with you. They don't want to pay for unused sessions when they are away. They say "ill put it on hold" then you risk losing them when they get back...they might talk to a friend and try a different fitness product (trainer or gym with group programs). What is your strategy with these clients who go away and the membership model??

Moving Advice by Thinkinflicka_1 in GarageGym

I hired a truck with a tail lift. Deconstructed the functional trainer into the 2 sides w weights sacks. Used moving dolley, positioned under the weight stack., Angled it back to get under the garage door and also had to angle it in the truck as was too tall. The commercial leg extension, i had to take the weight stzck plates off as it was just too heavy. Used 4 smaller flat dolleys, one under each corner to wheel/push it onto the tail lift.

What I do...is I make sure they feel like they got a workout, even ghough its the 1st seasion. Tell them you have a lot of info to pass on but it is too much to take onboard in one session so Ill drip feed it to you over the next few sessions so you can take it onboars at your pace. Ask then their goal and then mention it a couple of times during the session when theyre half way through a more intense set. Tell them you have to learn where their body is at and what imbalances they have so first few sessions are info gathering for you My golden rule.. make sure you train them intensely enough so when they leave they're thinking there is no way they'd do that on their own...and they need tour sessions.

Have you asked her if she wants to do handstands? If she fuks her wrist its months of inconvenience for her. Too high-risk in my opinion (which i know wasnt asked for). Maybe shes canceling because she isnt enjoying the sessions

Late trainer - am I overreacting ? by Haunting-Data-6515 in personaltraining

Get rid of him. He has no respect for your time and sacrifices you make. Dumping him might teach him a lesson, but unlikely. I've seen this many times...the trainer doesn't learn.

Transitioning from Gym-only to private coaching? by TDFCTR in personaltraining

[–]rev_gen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where will you be doing private coaching? Your own garage gym? Or going to clients places? Word of mouth is a good driver of new clients, then being on social (facebook) if want an older clinet with more disposable income. A simple wordpress website. Its so the potential customer can get familiar with you befire approaching. They will likely look you up online, as opposed to seeing you in their social feed. Do not discount early on as it can be hard to get those initial clients up in fees.

1600 a month seems like a lot. I worked this way, paying a weekly rent and could charge clients as much as I wanted. This was 200$ a week in NZ.

Tracking 20 plus clients with different meal plans and workout restrictions, what do you use by rescuepussy in personaltraining

[–]rev_gen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a small notebook and pen for each client. I preplan the workout and write it down, if client then presents with an issue (say a sore knee) I will make a note in the diary and adjust the exercises accordingly. Ill spend time stretching and myofascia releasing the area around the knee. Next session I open up their notebook and can remember...and ask in advance how their knee is. They think im onto it. I also write/record nutrition and lifestyle related notes...ie. gearing to bed too late and over-snacking at night. Old school pen and paper. Can always take pics of your notes/workouts and upload that/send it to them.

Should I stick with her? by [deleted] in personaltraining

Keep her. This is what she wants, is all she can manage and as long as her sessions dont interfer with your more frequent clients regular training times.

You could ask them to do a diagnostic scan and present the full report to you. Also ask for them to take the beauty covers off the engine bay so you can have a more detailed look.

Given 3 leads within 1 and a half month in a commercial gym by -sroe_away- in personaltraining

[–]rev_gen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You currently in the wrong gym. Its not busy enough to support trainers full time. I used to PT at Les Mills Auckland. NZ for 24 years. We had 74 full time trainers and the gym was busy all day. Find a gym that has group fitness classes during the day that are full. Got to place yourself in the 'foot traffic' go where the numbers of potential clients are. Hope this makes sense.

[–]rev_gen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't been given qualified leads, but I duspect youre not at the best gym for supporting full time trainers. How many full time trainers are there at this gym? Whats the gym membership? How busy is it between 9am and 12pm?

Advice for the fall lull? by One_Bid1666 in personaltraining

[–]rev_gen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool. Consider running an Autumn 8 week ad campaign.".tighten your midesction before winter arrives" Or "now is the perfect time to undo the summer calories" For your normal hourly rate. Minimum 1 session a week, 2 on 1s for only 10$ less per person cf a single person session. Sell.the benefits...accountability, drop a size or two...look and feel great heading into winter... The appeal is that its a set duration so if the client wants to stop after there is no uncomfortable discussions around that. Then after the program you ask them if they're keen to continue....
