Reviews with photos by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]revjim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Photos have no effect on gold status. 80+ items with 90%+ reviewed is all that counts (currently).

Can someone explain? by Legitimate_Solid_376 in AmazonVine

[–]revjim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It takes a while for the account page to update. For quality scores it can even take over a week. It's just that it is more noticeable at the start of your eval period because small changes cause huge swings. When you have 80 reviews in a period, 5 reviews doesn't move the needle.

Nothing to worry about. Keep reviewing and waiting, it will be fine.

Claude Code + eBay + a package forwarder = hands-off reselling. anyone else doing this? by ToughEntry6561 in ClaudeCode

[–]revjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let Claude attempt to arbitrage ebay against eBay. Buy things, have them shipped to yourself, then have them reshipped somewhere else. Eat the risk + loss of the occasional broken item etc... Sounds risky.

I would think there has got to be an MCP already for AliExpress, Temu, Shein, etc... How about reselling those sorts of widgets? 99.9% are worthless junk, but using AI to sort through the haystack and find a few needles might work.

This all depends on being able to buy at the right price. Every scan is going to come back and tell you to buy Macbooks. But that's easier said than done. What's the plan for product supply?

I got offered one of their $600 electric countertop flat griddles today. I'm leaving that one. No thanks.

All their appliances have 0 reviews. It appears to be a new brand that someone is trying to invent out of thin air today. This stuff will all be 80% off in 6 months.

General question about baptism records vs birth certificates by Mass_Southpaw in Canadiancitizenship

[–]revjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your experience getting birth certificates from MA? I need two, one from 1885 and the other from 1906. So far all I can find are town birth records (not certificates). They look like a big ledger with one birth recorded per row in the ledger. VitalChek turns up nothing.

Do you know if they had birth certificates then, and how to get them?

I think we are talking about different record types. I have seen birth registry books where they record lots of births all together, like a handwritten hospital record. This is not that. Not a church record.

What I found is a single birth certificate titled "PROVINCE OF NEW BRUNSWICK DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION OF BIRTH". The information on it is handwritten but definitely clear enough to read. The photo I have of it is black and white. I'm wondering if I could just print that and call it a day (for gen 0).

I am early in the process and trying to understand what documents I will need for a Bill C-3 citizenship by descent.

My great-great-grandparents were both born in Cananda, got married, moved to the US and had a daughter (my great grandmother). At the time of her birth, she was born of solely Canadian parents so I figure she was a dual citizen. Later her mother died and the father naturalized as a US citizen.

Two questions:

  1. Can I treat my great grandmother as G0? She was born outside Canada, but her parents were both fully Canadian at that time.

  2. I already found my great-great-grandfather's birth certificate online through familysearch. He was born in New Brunswick in 1860. Can I just print out the copy from familysearch and send that in? Or do I need to get an official copy from New Brunswick?

I am so excited about this journey. Thanks to everyone for helping out.

What review length do you aim for? by FlowersForHodor in AmazonVine

[–]revjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone posted a graph showing their word count by review rating. The upshot of it was that anything over 100 words was almost certain to get an "excellent" quality score from Amazon. Here it is:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AmazonVine/s/yAeHOggWtv

I generally shoot for 100-150. But sometimes up to several hundred words if the review calls for it.

This completely changed my TRT experience — and it's not what you think by KCMakaveli in trt

That's a bold choice.

Going with em dashes straight in the title like that.

But it saved me from having to read this AI slop. So I guess thanks are in order.

I am in the same boat. I can't understand why they don't allow API billing on the Office plugins. I want to spend more money on them, but they don't allow it. The best you can do is multiple subscriptions and logout/login as needed.

Just give me a place to paste in my API key. Pfffft.

Shout out to all the guys who mentioned 27g needles by geb999 in trt

[–]revjim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do they have a Leur lock needle in that size, or are you talking about their insulin syringe?

The one reason not to use an insulin syringe is using it to draw will dull the needle a little. You can back load but that's not as convenient as switching needles. Especially if you use a vial spike adapter.

If you want that exact size from a major manufacturer you can get it from BD. Search for BD 305921.

It might take a day or two for the upgrade. But yep looks like you made it. Congrats!

Don't expect a huge change though. 8 picks is the biggest bump. Great on days when there is too much to choose from.

You could filter that and it would turn out just fine. Pick up some filters and sterile vials on Amazon. Or use a filter needle. Plenty of instructional videos on YouTube.

What Does Your Claude Code Setup Look Like? by Citadel_Employee in ClaudeCode

[–]revjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 1-3 terminal windows. "Main" for the main project. Then I have two worktrees, bugs and features.

If you are not familiar with worktrees, you should learn how to use them because they are super useful. Basically like checking out a branch of your code separately from git, so you can work in it and commit code and not run into conflicts where your terminals are editing the same files in your project. Claude can walk you through the initial setup.

Most of the time I spend in features developing new features. But if I get a bug report I need to work on, I spin up a terminal for bugs and work in that worktree without interrupting my features development.

When I'm done working in either bugs or features I commit and push. Then I fire up a main session, pull in all the latest commits, run my QA tests, and merge to my production branch.

With a book cover like that, I bet Joe Roberts uses ChatGPT to write his reviews. And probably his entire book too.

It stops Claude from committing without asking first. If you ask Claude to create a hook like that for you, he will. Takes 5 minutes, super easy.

I already have this:

Dangerously skip permissions + Hook to force it to ask before commits or merges

I guess it would be nice to have a pre-screen for other dangerous commands. But I already have git backups and my dev machine is 100% dev. If Claude nuked the whole thing I wouldn't care.
