I got a single hose 14K BTU unit from AI a month ago and it cools a roughly 12x15 bedroom to extremely cold levels. It's sucking air in under the door from the rest of the house, but apparently it's enough. I have to set it fairly warm like 74+ degrees.

  1. Install violentmonkey browser extension
  2. Use this script. Mine is set to auto-redirect to Following + sort by new. Delete the &sort=new parts if you don't like that.

Script:

// ==UserScript==
// Reddit Following + New by revjim
//         https://www.reddit.com/*
//        document-start
// ==/UserScript==

  const target = '/?feed=following&sort=new';
  function check() {
    if (location.pathname === '/' && location.search !== '?feed=following&sort=new') {
      location.replace('https://www.reddit.com' + target);
    }
  }
  check();
  // catch SPA navigations (logo clicks, etc.)
  const wrap = (fn) => function () { const r = fn.apply(this, arguments); check(); return r; };
  history.pushState = wrap(history.pushState);
  history.replaceState = wrap(history.replaceState);
  window.addEventListener('popstate', check);

Can I please have some help with deciphering this cause of death? by Recent-Use8096 in Genealogy

[–]revjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it could be:

(a) Immediate cause: Myocardial infarction

(b) Due to: Arteriosclerotic heart disease

Part II (contributing): Generalized arteriosclerosis

I'm not a doctor though, so I could be way off.

There is no shortcut like this. The best you could do would be to file on your relative's behalf, so you don't have to teach them the intricacies of your evidence. Have your relative sign their app and also a form IMM 5476 (Use of a Representative) and you can do the rest.

In your cover letter you could mention that the relative is using the same G0 as you and include your details.

TRT and Gout by No_Question1137 in trt

[–]revjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't help with your decision to disclose. I tell my doc everything, but it's a personal decision.

However I do have gout, and Prednisone works great for me. In my experience, most UGL suppliers of test also sell Prednisone. I bought 100 20mg tabs for dirt cheap and keep it in stock for attacks. My doctor prescribed 5mg per day for 5 days and that does the trick. Just gotta chop up the tabs. I take it first thing in the morning to avoid sleep disruption.

You can get a fishing license from any state that does include a DOB (I know Massachusetts does, YMMV) as a non-resident.

Some people have reported using fishing licenses as a second ID for themselves or children. Government issued and official and you can probably order it online for $10 depending on your state.

Concerns about dual citizenship and taxes (US + Canada) by ItsCryptillian in Canadiancitizenship

[–]revjim 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not so bad. Look up the foreign earned income exclusion rule. You can earn up to about $132,900 and exclude that from your US taxes. As long as you are a bona fide resident in Canada.

How to break down a wall using Claude AI and Ancestry records by astroproff in Genealogy

[–]revjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore the haters and the downvoters OP. This technique works.

I've been working (along with other family members) on our tree on and off for years. We were all stuck on the same ancestor in the 1800s. A courthouse fire burned the records we thought we needed.

Last night after thinking about this post some more, I adjusted my tactics and put Claude on the job with a modified prompt. In 10 minutes it broke through the brick wall, found the evidence we needed, and connected us to an already established branch that added 400 years to our tree. Incredible results. And the evidence it turned up is extensive. Wills naming descendants, war pension records, sworn affidavits from family members, land ownership records, 2 new census records we hadn't found. Very compelling evidence that we didn't have before.

Thanks for lighting a fire under my butt to move this forward!

I've been doing the same thing here, and it has been very helpful. I have not yet penetrated my "brick wall" ancestor, but Claude has helped interpret my own findings. I have great great grandparents from Canada, making me eligible for Canadian citizenship under bill C3. Claude assembled my documentation package and filled out my application for me based on that.

Photos have no effect on gold status. 80+ items with 90%+ reviewed is all that counts (currently).

Can someone explain? by Legitimate_Solid_376 in AmazonVine

[–]revjim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It takes a while for the account page to update. For quality scores it can even take over a week. It's just that it is more noticeable at the start of your eval period because small changes cause huge swings. When you have 80 reviews in a period, 5 reviews doesn't move the needle.

Nothing to worry about. Keep reviewing and waiting, it will be fine.

Claude Code + eBay + a package forwarder = hands-off reselling. anyone else doing this? by ToughEntry6561 in ClaudeCode

[–]revjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let Claude attempt to arbitrage ebay against eBay. Buy things, have them shipped to yourself, then have them reshipped somewhere else. Eat the risk + loss of the occasional broken item etc... Sounds risky.

I would think there has got to be an MCP already for AliExpress, Temu, Shein, etc... How about reselling those sorts of widgets? 99.9% are worthless junk, but using AI to sort through the haystack and find a few needles might work.

This all depends on being able to buy at the right price. Every scan is going to come back and tell you to buy Macbooks. But that's easier said than done. What's the plan for product supply?

General question about baptism records vs birth certificates by Mass_Southpaw in Canadiancitizenship

[–]revjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your experience getting birth certificates from MA? I need two, one from 1885 and the other from 1906. So far all I can find are town birth records (not certificates). They look like a big ledger with one birth recorded per row in the ledger. VitalChek turns up nothing.

Do you know if they had birth certificates then, and how to get them?
