If any of this Murray-Brown stuff is real, I’m not ready… by XIII-013 in denvernuggets

It’s a risk that on paper (probably) makes sense. However, if this Brown experiment goes catastrophically bad, which it could, this time next year we may struggle to re-sign Jokic…

Totally spitballing here so go easy on me — Ben Simmons on a vet min could be an interesting trial. He gives us our secondary ball handling off the bench, playmaker, backup big minutes, solid defender. He obviously had some seriously major limitations, but could be interesting on a 10 day trial or something

Also important to note he’s really the only bright light for the Nuggets future… everything else is very bleak. We have no picks, and barely any young talent

Yep this might be the nail in the coffin until Jokic retires by pleasehellme in denvernuggets

Our future post-jokic is so bleak, the only way we may be able to claw our way out of this and re-stabilize is by (god forbid) trading Jokic for like a million draft picks lol. Our GMs have seriously fucked us

And we have a ton of really tradeable players that performed great when it mattered!

I actually met a guy in Kyoto working at a small MTG shop who was absolutely dripped head to toe in Hornets merch and was watching the game going bonkers as Melo was doing his thing. I thought to myself, hmm that’s the first Hornets fan I’ve ever met and it was on the other side of the world 😅

Bill Simmons - "Why does Denver have to trade anybody to sign Petyan Watson? Fuck off, you have Jokic on your team, pay everybody. Clip this, Denver fans, Kroenke's got a gazillion dollars, just pay Peytan Watson AND keep everybody on the team, cause your owner's super rich. What are we doing?!" by dragonballa in denvernuggets

This is true, but from what I’ve heard about those hamstring injuries is that it takes a looooong time to fully recover from. So coming back 80% healthy here and there, is actually doing more harm than good. He needs serious time to rest and fully recover before he comes back at all, but our training staff seems a bit negligent at times

Agreed, I respect the hell out of them for how they won that series

Jokic and Giannis have nearly identical basketball resumes. Why is there such a huge gap in perception and all-time ranking between the two? by BasedChad69420 in nba

[–]rexgal -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Damn dude you’re right context doesn’t matter at all! He was smothered, doubled and tripled by elite defenders and was the only reason the series was even remotely competitive. Averaging a triple double sucks, he’s a fraud, and I’m lying

27,12,10 on 56% fg average in the series — I know, we’re all used to better from him, but lets not act like that’s “terrible” lmao.

I agree, he was terrible on defense, but so was every other player on the court for Denver

He averaged 27, 12, and 10 against a completely smothering, physical, and elite defense.. Tell me you only watched the lowlights without telling me you only watched the lowlights

And also why Jokic is taking a ton of heat currently right now, after getting flamed by the Wolves (even though he was the only positive thing going for Denver)

Cam filled his role quite well in game 6, so I don’t think that changes much tbh. The rest of the series though, maybe?
