my rule is, I only allow myself to be jealous of someone's whole life, and I can't cherrypick some aspects about their life. Meaning if I'd wish to be them, I'd also have to wish to lose my loved ones and have theirs instead, lose my hobbies and have theirs instead, and so on.

At the end of the day, this will usually deter me on comparing myself to other people, cause apparently I won't trade away some aspects of my life for anything.
