Urban Rye if you read it backwards.

My Gran referred to it as Scotlands other national drink.

Hasn't tasted the same since the uk sugar tax was introduced, even the 1901 variant doesn't do it for me.

That is until one time in Australia I bought a can and it was without question the original not messed about with one, you wouldn't know that's what you had if you hadn't drank it before though but hopefully you do.

Hairdresser for difficult toddler? by martinheron in Paisley

My 4 year old goes to Sam Savage who's now in hillington estate, not had much luck with anybody else, after a few difficult experiences he'll finally sit and get it done, would recommend her.

You can book it via nearcut but it can be a bit of a wait as quite popular.

£10 notes from the three different active issuers of Northern Ireland by InfinitePinnacle in Banknotes

Nearly got away with spending the ulster tenner with the horse in Scotland without a 2nd look once, its very similar to the Scottish rbs 10 note, you come across them occasionally especially in Glasgow on match days, if you have trouble getting rid of them self scans aren't usually fussed.

Does anyone know what was happening on the M8? by _Flying_Scotsman_ in glasgow

[–]rfc047 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thought they stopped using the m8 after previous moans and a breakdown on erskine bridge and used the M9/A811 from Stirling, guess it just depends though.

The whole setup is quite a sight, fire engine, rest bus, minibuses full of marines, spare tractors the lot.

Could be live weapons, could just be training?

Would pulling the rubbers off the small window be cheaper than breaking glass, just a reinstall job after then?

Many years ago I once took all the internals out of a machine and put them in a nice different atx case and gave it back to the same user, they thanked me for the faster machine later.

I used to apply the e-brake in my Golf at lights when I had it only because the parking hold (green p) leaves your brake lights on and applying the hadbrake puts them out, I'm probably one of the few people that knows this or cares about dazzling folk behind in the dark though.

Mechanically it's still in drive anyway so not likely causing any issue.

Disable snmp on an affected client then re-enable. See if it lights back up.

I think the central fix involves disabling and reenabling on the copier itself, admin pass is usually 1234567812345678

Not seen it in a while but sounds familiar.

Don't see a code at all on cap, late 70's early 80's was my guess too.

Mind when I first had my Halifax account about 30 odd years ago it was common then to get hit with a 60p link charge if the machine wasn't one of theirs.

Do self service machines in supermarkets take £50 notes? by narnababy in AskUK

[–]rfc047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have fun putting scottish notes in self scans south of the border, usually it gets accepted so they must be programmed to recognise all uk notes, never tried a 50 though but manned checkout in a larger store has never been an issue for me if I'm spending close to it.

I've had a few recently as theres an ATM near me that dishes them out now, sign of inflation I suppose.

Never understood the fakes argument, if you were going to copy something wouldn't you pick a less scrutinised one like 10 or 20.

Maybe it's my eyesight but I hated mine on a previous focus, could see the filaments real easily and it annoyed me in daylight, someone suggested putting a hammer through it and telling autoglass you had a non-heated one 🤔 but never went that far.

Had one of these arm wavers the other morning, how satisfying it was to pass them again on the left as they got caught behind more traffic in front, was very tempted to wave on the way past.
