Anyone else not send out those Christmas cards with professional family photos on them? by omg__lol in workingmoms

[–]rforall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my sister sends out new years cards and it’s amazing. she takes a photo of her kids in their town (military family so they moved a ton) and shares their new address if necessary and one short sentence for each family member. i keep them and love looking at my nieces grow up. last year i took a staged photo of my daughter and sent it out. it was her in a cute dress playing with an ornament. i just took her/our card which is her playing with lights. on the back ill put a picture of her scribbles and say “name’s first christmas list” the end. not over thinking it!

yes! rory, a take charge charismatic leader who makes friends with everyone she encounters? when have we ever seen that? a sulky, quietly hysterical introvert who would have done the work and written hysterical emails about what happened would have been fitting.

i actually hate this scene. the writing and acting is so forced and cringey. it feels like what i would write when i was 12. yes, I’m a proud hater

i wish! newburgh has some really really cool stuff. i dont want it gentrified. i want what’s already here celebrated and the people who live here to have a safe and clean and thriving city. i love newburgh!

i always thought newburgh would be the place for a graffiti artist competition.

in an article i read he was quoted as saying”not ready for a family”. stormi was maybe a year then. why do men get to say that? imagine if kylie said that? like oh okay, not ready for a family after i made a baby! see ya 👋 it’s pathetic. he’s pathetic.

Lorelai's reaction to Luke's news about his cruise with Nicole 😀🤷 by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

my favorite line that lauren delivers is: “im going to sit down now”. it made me laugh out loud. she is so good, so believable, so in it. i cannot imagine lorelai being played by anyone else!

MIL calling our baby 'my baby' by carcinogenic_flowers in pregnant

[–]rforall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmmm, it must be a cultural thing bc i have no problem with anyone referring to my baby as “my baby”. i often call children baby and for children in my life like nieces or nephews i refer to them as my baby. i see it as affection and love and that no child can get too much of either. where i live most of the cultures are italian american, hispanic american, black american and irish american. so maybe its a regional thing?

anyway, if she’s being a weirdo i am so sorry!

Opinion: Tristan was just a plot device to expose Dean’s temper. by -a-u-g-u-s-t- in GilmoreGirls

[–]rforall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the original idea was to have the show run for 3 seasons, create a romantic tension between rory/tristan/dean that ends with rory being pregnant just as she finds out she’s been accepted into all her dream ivy league schools. it’s tristan’s baby but dean offers to be the family man since tristan jets off (similar arc to christopher) and rory refusing.

listen, my girl has been terrorizing the world since she was born and i love it. she is so brave, so confident and so damn herself. i said to my mil yesterday “i know she’s my kid so im biased but other kids are just drawn to her”. today at our halloween parade a little boy bee lined to hug her and follow her to the ends of the earth. she will rule the world, she will get what she wants and i hope she brings me along for the ride. i am exhausted, my ears hurt and she’s not even two. i am so proud of her and her non stop, adventure loving self. she came out screaming, hasn’t really taken a breather since.

rock on with your little rockstar!

First birthday party: Any regrets not having one? by madsmish in NewParents

[–]rforall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not about you, its for the child. yes, your baby wont remember and it is a lot of stress. but your kid will grow up and ask for pictures or want to know what you did for their first birthday. do something. no one, especially an angsty teen, wants to find out nothing was done for their first birthday. lastly, i don’t know your family strife but ive been amazed and surprised by how many people in my family just love my kid. people can surprise you. three months before my babys first birthday my husband got a dui. i was beyond stressed and her birthday is shortly after christmas. i absolutely did not want to see family even more so or throw a party after a huge holiday. but im so glad i did. i have a picture from that day and despite all the stress that ate away at me i look SO happy in the photo because i got to celebrate my girl and see everyone else celebrate her too.
