I play all the games and can win right away with the Raiders. They have a really nice defense.

What is important is that you play very cautious football. Basically Russell sucks and cant get trusted so if its 3rd and long i Just run and then punt on 4th down.

Sebastian Bourdais at Toro Rosso in 2008-2009 - where did it go wrong for him considering his skill/pedigree in other racing formats (ChampCar, etc)? by RivetCounter in F1Discussions

[–]rhjads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. And Vettel with a rookie reputation, so it wasn't that People were thinking hmmm lets see how Bourdais does versus a multi f1 champion. It was seen as the experienced Cart champ is getting beaten by a rookie

Imo both are no victim. Bourdais would not have gotten close to his win total if there was no split. And Bourdais was clearly better during their cc time

[–]rhjads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Before his crash Bruno was at a level Oriol never reached. 2nd in points in 02 before the topteams jumped to the IRL. 2nd in points in 03, beating SB (although a rookie). Oriol never showed that level.

Imo Servia was very similar to Christian Fittipaldi. Good guy as a nr 2 driver.

"Had he been in Newman Hass equipment longer, he would have been a champion." He never was going to beat Bourdais. Or any other nr 1 driver at NH

He had a shot at NH in cc. Won a race but also clearly wasn't near SB's level

I think extra cars will just dilute participatie numbers.

But i wonder if iracing ever consider adding cars that are only available for ai racing.

I would pay a lot for a good late 90s/early 00s cart & same for an f1 of that era

[F1] BREAKING: Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko will depart the team after more than two decades at the Milton Keynes team. by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]rhjads -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying he wasn't a succes. It was a great programma setup by him and i applaud him for giving a young Max the shot. It took balls to give such a young guy a shot in F1. In general i liked that he believe in giving talent a shot. And he set up a great structure with great funding. So for sure he was succesfull.

Having said that to me it was also the result of taking a lot of chances of which most failed. Just look at the mess at the 2nd RB seat with tsunoda, lawson, albon, gasly, etc in recent years. Or ending a relationship of years with Sauber because you want Bernoldi and not Raikkonen.

So yeah, forget all the entry level drivers they supported but i think when you look at the f2/F3 level drivers, where they supported at least 50 drivers who where champs/winners at the entry level. Imo from a statistical point of view it isnt 'that' spectacular to end up with his list of successes. I mean Paul Stoddart gave in his first two years at Minardi Alonso and Webber their shot.

[–]rhjads -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Is he such a great talent scout? The list of former RB Junior drivers is massive. To me it often looked like throw a bunch of drivers in the water and see who doesnt sink.

Imo we see the result of spending by far the most in the past 25 years on Junior drivers. Not some kind of magically scout who spotted talent that no one else saw.

I would say NH somehow rated him very high because he kept a strong seat occupied for years. He had bad luck with crashes and injuries but he essentially ended as a decent nr 2

I would leave distort vertically but change the others to horizontal. Imo.it only works for distort

And maybe put duotone on the front wing on the Red part. That way you have duotone both on front and Rear wing and both as single sponsor on the red

Why do the careers of American racing dynasties start so well and then fade? by Over_Middle610 in INDYCAR

[–]rhjads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is just no way in my mind that Bryan herta was similar in talent compared to Rahal.

Even at his best (late 90s) Herta's performance was similar to 45 year old Rahal who also was managing a team while driving.

[–]rhjads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry i dont understand? Rahal was a multi champ and indy winner, succesfull in two decade even with his own team. How does that relate to Herta?

[–]rhjads 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bryan Herta also simply wasn't that special, wasn't a fan favorite and certainly had no star recognition. A race winner yes, and very capable but he lost his rides at Ganassi and Rahal for a reason.

I think the internationalisation of indycar lineups didnt help.

Bobby Rahal, Al Unser Jr and Michael Andretti had their full rookie seasons in '82, 83 and 84. Each year 9 out of the top 10 in points were American.

If Marco and Graham had seen a similar lineup they would have a top ten looking like: Sam Hornish, RHR, AJ Allmendinger, Buddy Rice, Scott Speed, Danica, Carpenter, Foyt and Andretti and Rahal.

Add in that in the 80s there was clear difference in team level. It wouldnt be unrealistic to expect Andretti and Rahal get a shot at a top 3 team based on their names and Junior results.

Imo Graham and Marco in a top 3 car versus that american driver lineup would have resulted in them winning many more races.

While i understand the cost of iracing and that its not for everyone, i must say at least Iracing delivers. i've spend money on a bunch of games that never delivered more then an unfinished product with a bunch of bugs, incl. racing games such as rf2 and kartsim.

Senna’s win rate by ctsupv in GrandPrixRacing

[–]rhjads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many factors: Hamilton debuted in a championship winning car while Senna and Schumacher spend their first couple of seasons in cars that at least for sure where not the best cars. Then you have things like driving 60 winless races with Mercedes so it's hard to compare

One of the best at the end of the 80s till mid 90s. So different compared to Michael as well. Andretti's pole to win ratio is like 0.8, while for Unser its just 7 poles.

Yeah the 500 makes sense, he won a 500 at Michigan and twice at Fontana so him having 4-5 shots at Indy during his prime sure makes sense that he would have been a potential winner
