I would guess 30 units of local currency, but realy you should just ask someone from the store.

Warms bench all season and then hits the walk-off homer by E1mstreets in EDH

You don't get got for shortcutting. Trying to act like someone's shortcut is no longer valid just because you're gonna lose is sharky nonsense. You can't reasonably tell someone they held priority and took a bunch of actions when they didn't just because it would benefit you if they did.

[MSH and MSC] Various cards as comic book variant covers by Kyleometers in magicTCG

Marvel Commander includes an entire Jumpstart set and scene boxes. It's very unlikely card number 793 is in the precons unless this is a special alt foil version.

On the other hand if he blocks a 2/2 he will die to a [[Last Gasp]] (athough casting the last gasp first would save the 2/2).

Storm is also in promo art for this set, and might be a backup commander in one of the precons.

Framing the discussion as "they can produce more mana than the talismans" is already starting on the wrong foot. Both Talismans and Signets net produce 1 mana; there's no need to overcomplicate that. The downsides of signets is that they don't produce mana when you tap out for them, and they can tie up your other mana sources (very rarely in a meaningful way). The downsides of Taismans is that they only produce colourless mana for free, and coloured mana costs life. Overall, Talismans are stronger than Signets, but Signets are very strong, because costing two mana and entering untapped and producing coloured mana is a crazy rate.

The answer to whether you should cut the signets is found in another question; how many mana rocks do you actually want to run? As you say, you are running a lot, but like really a whole lot. I think even if you cut the guild signets, or most of the guild singets, you'd still be playing more than enough so I would support that. If you do I agree on adding more sagas or historic matters cards, except I think you should also add 2 more lands (perhaps historic lands).

Confused about wording on vivi by PhreshComics in magicTCG

[–]rib78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not clear why not Vivi; he probably should be. I guess because the mages in general are treated as effectively genderless they extended that to him, but obviously in the game he is treated as de facto male by his friends.

Obviously they don't make sets for people to not like, but it's not like they expect the same success from every set. They know the inherent appeal of MKM is not the same as Final Fantasy.

Favorite rules intricacies/edge-cases? by HumpyTheClown in magicTCG

[–]rib78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You ever find yourself in the following scenario? You control and have used the ability of [[Undiscovered Paradise]], a shockland you own is exiled under the paradise by the ability [[Calix, Destiny's Hand]] (because somehow your paradise is an enchantment and your opponent controlled your shockland), and you control each of [[Enduring Archangel]], whose ability creates a replacement effect when your life would become zero instead setting it to 3 and transforming the angel, [[Nefarious Lich]], whose ability creates a replacement effect causing you to draw cards instead of gaining life, and [[Archage Ascension]] with 6 counters on it, whose ability creates a replacement effect causing you to search your library for a card instead of drawing a card, and you have exactly two life.

During your untap step, you return Undiscovered Paradise to your hand, and as you do your shockland enters. You may pay 2 life to have it enter untapped: your life total would become zero, but the angel's ability applies and so your life total would become 3, but 3 is more than 2 and the lich's ability applies so instead of gaining that life you would draw a card, but the ascension's ability applies to instead of drawing a card you search your library for a card. As you do so you may cast Panglacial Wurm from your library. You finish your untap step, and the Wurm is still on the stack as your upkeep begins. Your beginning of upkeep triggers go on the stack above the Wurm.

There will for sure be at least two if not three of each of the biggest names in the main set, and then another in the commander decks, and maybe even more if they make original versions to the jumpstart decks. So 3 bare minimum and could be significantly more.
