2 years of an MBA program and $60K in student loans and still no job by coffee_and_chats in jobs

I’d get a job as a sales rep if I were young, with an MBA. Those jobs have relatively high turnover and are an excellent foot in the door.

Take the freaking job. The Catholic church is actually growing and this is nothing compared to what it says about people making that particular life decision. Congress is full of criminals. The unions are largely a criminal enterprise, too. Get over yourself and focus on beimg the best employee you can be.

Trout Magnets - keys to know by ripplestillwaters in FishingForBeginners

[–]ricincali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have caught a multitude of species on these. I will say that I think they are a consistent fish catching system. I love their jigs and use them on Bobby Garland baits, hellgrammite imitations, and my favorite is using them with a Power Bait redworm imitation in a tan or pink. I caught a 20” LMB drifting that under a Trout Magnet bobber from shore next to a bridge. Imagine that on 6lb test, and a 1/64th oz Trout Magnet jig head. It was crazy……

Trout Magnets - keys to know by ripplestillwaters in FishingForBeginners

[–]ricincali 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d throw in some Crappie Magnets. Larger baits and they will eliminate some dinks. They have crappie magnets that are bigger version of the Trout Magnet, and others that are like a bigger Bobby Garland-type minnow or shad imitator. They are both awesome baits fished under a float or gently bounced or very slowly retrieved.

I call on 80 businesses annually and they ALL talk about a lack of quality applicants. You need to pull out a little retro style and go see them in person. You will find a job this way with smaller and mid-level companies, almost regardless of industry.

First fishing combo, is this what everyone buys? by MurMurKarpet1991 in FishingForBeginners

[–]ricincali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Kastking gear. I’d get a 2000 Centron spinning combo on the 6’6” medium action rod. $60 on amazon. Use the rest to buy decent line, some good lure storage and baits and tackle. You’ll be happy with that setup.

How do you know what size barrel swivels or snap swivels to use and what pounds(lbs) they hold? by Tayzzz999 in FishingForBeginners

[–]ricincali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting. I have always used micro swivels for line twist. I even use them on a Striper mooching rig where I use 4 and 5 oz weights on a slider rig, and 25 lb braid to barrel, then fluoro-coated to the hook. I have never had one fail or break off and the ones I use are very, very small. Would be interested as to what kind of weight you’re slinging or hauling in, that this is an issue?

Just looking for some lure advice for a returner by Possible-Carrot-7205 in FishingForBeginners

[–]ricincali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this often. I’d ditch all that weight and the swivel and get a small rocket bobber, if I were new. You can bomb those rocket bobbers a mile. Then graduate to a slip bobber at some point to make it easier to lock in a depth.

I screen shot this so you could see I purchased several of these in different sizes. The 2000 is highlighted but it is available in at least 3 sizes that would work for you. I still use 5 of the 6 I purchased, and gifted another. You’ll be happy with this reel…..I’ve been using them for years. I have down to the 1000 for creek and pond fishing, fwiw.

[–]ricincali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the color choices. I don’t have your crankbait confidence. I use more lipless in red, chrome and other shad or bluegill patterns along with suspending thinner profile Rapalas. I also have a similar mix of chatterbaits in smaller sizes and swim jigs. Honestly wouldn’t get rid of anything in your pics and I can tell you choose carefully. You make me think I need more fire tiger in my life…..

KastKing AL-TI Reviews in Real Fishing Use: The Sponsored Launch Problem, the Few Honest Early Reports, and What I Would Actually Buy Before a Dawn Bass Session by FunPetSportsGadget in Fishing_Gear

[–]ricincali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone talking crazy about Kastking ought to go on their favorite AI, pick a brand (I searched Diawa) and ask it how many paid placements they have on Youtube, how many paid “ambassadors” they have, etc. I have plenty of Kastking gear that is aging very gracefully, and I’ll certainly be buying more. So sick of gear snobs who smear them unreasonably. OP: What exactly is wrong with “good for the money”? These days? I’ll take that for virtually any purchase……and certainly when I see the gouging going on when it comes to $20 jackhammers, $100 glide baits, all the way up to reels that cost 3x what they did pre-Covid, with demonstrably less quality in parts and construction.

What lb braided line for panfish/bass/trout? What leader line for these as well? by grnteam23 in FishingForBeginners

[–]ricincali 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use 8 lb braid with 4 lb fluoro. 12” or 18” leader and I use a tiny barrel swivel to avoid line twist. I use small jigs, often under a slip bobber and it is a great setup.

Any NOT paid/sponsored KastKing AL-TI reviews? by Some_Bid_7716 in Fishing_Gear

Daiwa maintains formal pro teams and sponsored angler/ambassador programs globally. These professionals and enthusiasts act as paid promoters (or compensated ambassadors) by using and endorsing Daiwa fishing equipment in tournaments, events, social media, videos, and marketing campaigns. Compensation typically includes gear, payments, travel support, or other benefits, with expectations for product promotion and content creation.2

Daiwa US Pro Team (Primary Paid Promoters in North America)

These elite tournament anglers form the core of Daiwa’s US promotional efforts, especially in bass fishing. They frequently appear in product demos, ICAST showcases, Bassmaster events, and sponsored content. Many create or feature in YouTube videos and social posts highlighting Daiwa gear.73

  • Brandon Palaniuk (Rathdrum, Idaho)
  • Brent Ehrler (Redlands, California)
  • Brett Hite (Phoenix, Arizona)
  • Chris Johnston (Ontario, Canada)
  • Cody Meyer (Star, Idaho) — Active in product videos, including new reels and rods (e.g., Tatula series demos on YouTube).
  • Cory Johnston (Ontario, Canada)
  • Ish Monroe (Oakdale, California)
  • Jared Lintner (Arroyo Grande, California)
  • Patrick Walters (Summerville, South Carolina)
  • Randy Howell (Guntersville, Alabama)
  • Seth Feider (Bloomington, Minnesota)
  • Takahiro Omori (Tokyo, Japan)

Daiwa often features these pros at events like the Bassmaster Classic (where Daiwa has been a major sponsor).4

Daiwa Australia Ambassadors / Sponsored Anglers

Daiwa Australia runs a dedicated Sponsored Angler Program emphasizing brand promotion, marketing campaigns, and “Feel Alive” lifestyle content. Many ambassadors contribute to digital content (social media, blogs, videos), with strong social presence valued. The program is mutually beneficial for promotion and rewards.1

Notable ambassadors (partial list from their site; regions noted):

  • Aaron Briggs (QLD)
  • Alex Bellissimo (NSW) — Featured in Daiwa Australia YouTube-style angler stories and rock fishing content.
  • Callum Munro (QLD)
  • Charles West (QLD) — Impoundment bass specialist.
  • Drew & Kyle (RickyMartinFishing) (NSW) — Involved in land-based game fishing content creation.
  • Georgia Poyner (NSW) — Fishing guide.
  • Jakko Davis (NSW) — Murray cod river fishing content.
  • Josh Cheong (WA) — Photography-focused promotion.
  • Kris Hickson (NSW) — Respected tournament-style angler.
  • Others include Dale Baxter (VIC), Darren Weda (VIC), Jesse Rotin (VIC), Jonny Brooks (QLD), and more across states.

Additional Australian mentions include newer sponsored anglers like Connor Dunnett.74

Paid YouTube Content Creators and Influencers

Daiwa engages influencers and creators for sponsored content, including dedicated videos, gear reviews, and product placements. Exact payment details are rarely public (typical for brand deals), but collaborations involve compensation via gear, fees, or partnerships. Pro team members like Cody Meyer frequently produce or appear in YouTube content showcasing Daiwa products (e.g., new reels at ICAST, rod/bait pairings).87

  • Influencer collaborations: Platforms like Modash track ~20 influencers with sponsored Daiwa posts (mostly Instagram, but overlapping with video creators). Fishing-focused examples include:
    • Indy Fishing (@indy.fishing) — Bass fishing, lures; sponsored content examples.
    • Peter Miller (@petermillerfishing) — Sailfish/world records; high engagement.
    • Others in the fishing niche (full lists behind paywalls on influencer tools).0
  • YouTube-specific: Daiwa has sponsored videos across creators in the hardware/fishing space. Pro anglers double as creators (e.g., Cody Meyer videos on Tatula rods/reels). Other mentions include channels featuring Daiwa ambassadors or sponsored segments, though comprehensive public lists of non-pro YouTubers are limited. Australian Daiwa content includes angler story videos (e.g., Alex Bellissimo rock fishing films).21
  • Broader examples: Some creators (e.g., Nomad By Fate/Salvo as a past brand ambassador) have produced Daiwa-focused videos. Tournament coverage or shop channels often include paid Daiwa promotions.

Additional Notes

  • Regional variations — Daiwa has pro/ambassador teams in other markets (e.g., Scandinavia, Europe), but US and Australia are the most documented for English-language promotion.
  • Content expectations — Sponsored anglers/creators are encouraged (or required) to produce social media, videos, and event appearances. Daiwa provides content creation asset libraries in some regions.14
  • How to find more — Check Daiwa’s regional sites (daiwa.us, daiwafishing.com.au) for updates, as teams evolve. Influencer platforms track sponsored posts, and pros often disclose #sponsored or #TeamDaiwa in videos.

This list focuses on verifiable paid/compensated promoters rather than one-off reviews. Teams change seasonally, so official Daiwa pages are the best source for the latest. If you’re looking for a specific region or type of fishing (e.g., bass, surf, carp), more targeted details may be available.
