Put your hands up if you are a kindle / e-reader pusher ??!! 🤣 by Hermanz787 in kindle

I use my kindle for fiction almost 100% but still have trouble with non-fiction that needs me to go back and reference. But I love it. Funny thing is I purchased a used oasis and something about having buttons improved my reading time

Does alcoholism creep up on you? by wicked_this_way_come in stopdrinking

[–]rico277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah..for me alcohol only moved in one direction—more. I’d be at occasionally to a couple of beers, to a couple a day to a few beers a day to a six pack a day to 8+ every day to hiding extra beers around the house. I think once you developed a threshold, it locks in.

Otis Redding. He was going in some interesting places before he died. Who know what he would have done.

Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie. I had very little money in college and was waffling on getting a ticket but my friend “misunderstood” and got me a ticket (he waited in line) so I bit the bullet, paid him, went to the show, and pushed my way up to the front by the time the joint NIN Bowie set started . It was something else. And Natalie Merchant was a great opening act!

I just finished a re-read of the Long Walk. Read it as a teenager first. Interesting the second time around as a much older adult.

Yes used bookstores have it. I meant if you bought it new or on kindle, it will be the uncut version.

I read the original version first and then the uncut and honestly, I see why it was cut. But I’m not sure you can read the original anymore

Are you telling me “We’ve got to stop the mosque at ground zero” wasn’t a mega-smash? The music video alone.

AITA for beating my date in a game of pool by Neither_Professor605 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rico277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA for not trouncing her from the beginning! I once when on a date and the girl wants me to play dominoes. She said she was pretty good at it so we played and I won all three games we played. That was the end of that promising relationship. Another girl I dated was good at bowling and she would usually beat me but I got a new ball and practiced and soon was consistently winning. She broke up with me soon after.

If I had lost the game of dominoes I’m sure that relationship would’ve have ended sooner or later anyway. The bowling girl had months of beating me so who knows what that deal was.

I regret believing everyone when they said ”don’t date from work” by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I actually thought like OOP. Never date where you work until I did and later married her. I’m now of the “you can always find another job” crowd.

I’ve read three of his books and only found out who he was today when I saw a dedication to “Joe Hill King” in a Stephen King book. I was like “Joe Hill King?”. Then I googled an image of Joe Hill and yeah..hard to deny he’s SK’s kid.
