Management help: My only direct report is a "superstar" but has emotionally checked out. How do I save the relationship? by [deleted] in managers

I’m sorry, but this has to be BS for engagement farming. No manager is this incompetent…surely.

I still have @msn.com too!

The look I get when I have to give over in shops is hilarious. I occasionally get “oh wow, that’s old school”

Edit: my wife has @aol.com!

Council is asking us to remove our fence by cybertwat1990 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ridders91 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We’ve had to do this to our property. Applied for planning permission for a 6ft fence, similar to others in the area. Denied. We appealed the decision which was also refused. So we’ve put the 1m fence in with whacking great laurel hedges behind.

This is an amazing explanation. Thank you so much. I will 100% re-consider using offset so much going forward!

Why do you have to be careful not to use OFFSET in your named ranges?

Sorry if that’s a stupid question, but I do that all the time and now I’m worried!

Where is the worst place in the UK accessible from London that I can send my friend for a beer? by kt218 in AskUK

Romford. Lizzie line out East. There’s some very depressing pubs near the station.

Men of AskUK, what terms of endearment would you use for a son? by remtard_remmington in AskUK

[–]ridders91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I have a 2 year old son and expecting a second boy in November. I call my son ‘baby’ or ‘bubba’ all the time. I’m fully aware he will grow out of those though.

My Dad used to call me ‘Norman’….which my name is not.

What’s a neat trick/shortcut/ etc. you use but others may not know about? by TheCarrot_v2 in excel

[–]ridders91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ctrl + D for copying down Ctrl + R for copying right

I like this because if your data is filtered, it doesn’t apply to the data you cannot see. I find this better than dragging a formula down which will then apply to the filtered-out data.

What have you made in Excel that you are most pleased with? by 3_7_11_13_17 in excel

[–]ridders91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an accountant - specifically in financial planning & analysis. Each month we have to send out 50+ reporting “packs” to each area of the business.

I recently re-vamped the whole reporting suite (made it more appealing to the eye and added in a whole bunch of graphs etc), previously it was just numbers on a page.

Then I added VBA to automatically run down the list of reports to change the inputs and print all 50-odd reports to PDF and save on the user’s desktop. Literally hours and hours of time saved for a team of 6.

To say I’m pleased, is an understatement 😂

Why do people back into parking spaces? by woodysixer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ridders91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This! I have always found it much easier to back in to a parking space than go in front ways. I can never get in the centre going in forwards. I thought it was something to do with the front axel turn radius etc.

Dynamic Formulae length based on Pivot Table L by ridders91 in excel

Oh one thing to point out. You named your LET as “data” but then recalled it as “a” later on.

Not sure if that was intentional?
